Role Description The SAP ABAP Developer contract role is a remote position responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom SAP applications and enhancements. Day-to-day activities include writing and optimizing ABAP code, developing reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEFW), and performing unit testing and troubleshooting of SAP modules. The developer collaborates closely with functional consultants and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring performance, scalability, and adherence to development standards. The role also involves code reviews, documentation of technical designs, and support during implementation, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization for SAP projects.
Qualifications

• Strong SAP ABAP development skills, including classical and object-oriented ABAP, with experience in RICEFW objects.
• Hands-on experience with SAP modules and technologies such as SAP ECC or S/4HANA, BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, and user exits/enhancement frameworks.
• Proficiency in performance optimization, debugging, unit testing, and troubleshooting complex SAP issues.
• Experience with integration and data-related tools such as ABAP CDS views, OData services, interfaces to external systems, and data migration techniques.
• Ability to collaborate with functional teams, analyze business requirements, and translate them into clear technical specifications and documentation.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices, version control, and standard development methodologies (e.g., Agile or SAP Activate).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, contract-based environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Prior experience in enterprise integration or digital transformation projects is highly beneficial.
