SAP Customer & Vendor Master Data Lead

For a long-term international SAP S/4HANA project with a top-tier global client, we are looking for an experienced Customer & Vendor Master Data Lead.
This is a leadership and coordination role within the data workstream. We are not looking for someone focused mainly on day-to-day master data creation. The key responsibility will be to drive the workstream, manage the external vendor, improve data quality and ensure readiness for migration and rollout activities.

  • Travel: up to approx. once per quarter
Responsibilities
  • Lead the Customer & Vendor master data workstream.
  • Coordinate and manage the external data vendor.
  • Oversee data preparation, cleansing, mapping, validation and migration readiness.
  • Monitor data quality, identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
  • Coordinate dependencies between business, SAP teams and the migration/vendor team.
  • Track progress, risks, issues and deliverables.
  • Support testing, migration cycles, cutover and rollout activities.
  • Ensure data is ready according to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Act as the main point of contact for Customer & Vendor data topics.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in SAP master data, especially Customer and Vendor data.
  • Experience in SAP S/4HANA transformation, migration or rollout projects.
  • Experience leading a data workstream, project stream or vendor-delivered scope.
  • Good understanding of data mapping, cleansing, validation and migration processes.
  • Ability to challenge vendor outputs and identify data quality issues.
  • Strong stakeholder and project coordination skills.
  • Very good English.
Nice to have
  • Previous hands-on experience in master data maintenance or migration.
  • SAP Business Partner knowledge.
  • Experience with SAP MDG, Migration Cockpit or similar migration tools.
  • Previous experience managing an external implementation or data vendor.
The ideal candidate understands the data domain well enough to challenge and guide the delivery team, but wants to work primarily in a lead / PM / workstream coordination role rather than as a hands-on data analyst.
