SAP Material & FI Data Lead

For a long-term international SAP S/4HANA project with a top-tier global client, we are looking for an experienced Material & FI Data Lead.
This is a leadership and coordination role focused on managing the data workstream and external vendor delivery. We are looking for someone who understands SAP master data and migration processes, but wants to operate primarily as a Data Lead / Workstream Lead / PM, rather than performing day-to-day data maintenance.

  • Travel: up to approx. once per quarter
Responsibilities
  • Lead the Material & FI data workstream.
  • Coordinate and manage the external data vendor.
  • Oversee data preparation, cleansing, mapping, validation and migration readiness.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of data across SAP Material and Finance-related objects.
  • Coordinate dependencies between business, SAP functional teams and migration teams.
  • Monitor progress, risks, issues and vendor performance.
  • Support migration cycles, testing, cutover and rollout readiness.
  • Drive issue resolution and ensure agreed quality and timeline standards are met.
  • Act as the main point of contact for Material & FI data topics.
Requirements
  • Strong experience with SAP master data and data migration.
  • Good understanding of Material Master and finance-related SAP data.
  • Experience in SAP S/4HANA migration, transformation or rollout programmes.
  • Experience leading a data stream, workstream or vendor-delivered scope.
  • Good understanding of data mapping, cleansing, validation and reconciliation.
  • Ability to challenge data quality and vendor delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder and project coordination skills.
  • Very good English.
Nice to have
  • Hands-on background in SAP Material or FI data.
  • Experience with SAP MDG, Migration Cockpit or similar tools.
  • Exposure to SAP FI processes and finance data structures.
  • Previous experience managing an external implementation or data migration vendor.
The ideal candidate has enough hands-on data background to understand what “good” looks like, but is now interested in a more leadership, governance and coordination-focused role.
