About PwC SATIC and the role

Are you a corporate lawyer based in Cape Town or Johannesburg (South Africa) with substantial experience supporting UK clients or working in cross-border corporate legal environments? PwC South Africa’s SATIC team is looking for a Manager-level Corporate Lawyer specializing in high-volume, technically rigorous legal document review and international business reorganization projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a professional support, non-client-facing capacity supporting UK and multinational clients within a structured, technology-driven managed legal services environment.

Why Join Us?

  • Leverage your experience working with UK clients or within UK legal frameworks on complex cross-border reorganizations, M&A, and legal entity simplification transactions.
  • Focus on a specialist, high-volume role emphasizing legal document review, quality control, technical legal research, and drafting plain-English corporate legal advice aligned with PwC UK standards.
  • Collaborate closely with UK, EMEA, USA, and South African teams within a structured, technology-enabled managed legal services environment.
  • Manage detailed review of diverse transaction documents, including sale and purchase agreements, shareholder resolutions, company registrations, and legal due diligence reports.
  • Play a key role supporting large-scale, multi-jurisdictional corporate restructuring projects without acting as the primary client-facing lawyer.
  • Coach and mentor junior lawyers while contributing to the continuous improvement of templates, precedents, playbooks, and legal knowledge resources.
  • Work aligned to UK business hours in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment requiring strong organisational skills and resilience.

Qualifications /Certifications required:

  • LLB or equivalent legal qualification
  • Admission as an attorney in South Africa or equivalent common law jurisdiction

What You Bring:

  • Admission as a corporate lawyer in South Africa or a comparable jurisdiction.
  • 5–7+ years’ post-admission experience, including significant exposure to UK client work or cross-border corporate transactions.
  • Proven capability managing very high volumes of legal document review within strict SLAs and demanding deadlines.
  • Experience drafting and reviewing corporate transaction documents governed by UK or international law, including M&A, legal entity simplifications, dividend extractions, and restructuring approvals.
  • Work aligned to UK business hours in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment requiring strong organisational skills and resilience.
  • Proficiency and enthusiasm for legal technology tools, process improvement, and knowledge sharing.

How You’ll Make a Difference:

  • Deliver meticulous document review and quality control supporting international corporate reorganizations and complex transactional implementations.
  • Provide technically accurate, commercially informed legal advice and research alongside senior legal teams.
  • Drive the enhancement and maintenance of firm-wide legal templates, precedents, and playbooks.
  • Support and guide junior lawyers, fostering a high-quality, collaborative team environment.
  • Help ensure that all cross-border restructuring steps are legally robust, operationally sound, and aligned to transaction objectives.

Make the most of your UK client experience in a focused, technical legal role with PwC SATIC.

Apply today to join a leading global legal team delivering excellence in cross-border corporate transactions.

The successful candidates will be required to work the standard office hours of the UK office. During the training period, attendance in the office will be required on a daily basis. Following the completion of training, candidates will transition to a hybrid working model. Please note that PwC SATIC is currently refining its hybrid working approach, and this remains subject to change in line with business, client, and team requirements.
