2-year fixed-term Security Architect opportunity with a customer-owned financial institution. You’ll strengthen security across major programmes, initially focused on identity and access management and data loss prevention, with uplift and integration work expected to follow.
- Open to security analysts, engineers or consultants taking a step up into architect level.
- Shape secure architecture across technology, application and cloud environments.
- Support major security programmes (e.g. DLP and IAM) and future integration work.
- Turn security requirements into practical, secure-by-design solutions.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and help move complex work forward.
What's In It For You
- Bring your experience to a role that is open to candidates ready to step up, with scope to develop your architecture capability and contribute to building out the security practice.
- Make a tangible contribution to the security posture of a financial institution in a growth and uplift phase.
- Work on significant security initiatives, with an initial focus on identity and access management and data loss prevention, and the opportunity to support business integration as the programme develops.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide security architecture advice across technology, applications and cloud initiatives, translating business objectives, risk requirements and regulatory obligations into secure, scalable solutions.
- Support major identity and access management and data loss prevention programmes, partnering with technology and delivery teams to build security into designs and implementation.
- Develop and maintain security architecture principles, standards, patterns and reference designs; conduct architecture reviews and risk assessments, and recommend appropriate controls.
- Work with Technology, Information Security, Risk, Audit and project stakeholders to support assurance, compliance and continuous improvement. As integration work progresses, contribute architecture guidance that helps the business move towards secure, resilient outcomes.
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Security Architect or senior security practitioner, with capability across application, infrastructure, cloud and security architecture.
- Experience designing secure solutions across legacy and cloud environments, including SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, APIs and integration technologies.
- A sound understanding of security controls, governance frameworks and architecture principles, and the ability to apply them in complex environments.
- Experience supporting transformation, migration or consolidation programmes, embedding security requirements throughout delivery.
- Ability to balance security, regulatory and operational requirements and recommend practical solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills, including the ability to guide conversations and explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Analytical, adaptable and collaborative, with the judgement to work across multiple initiatives and move work forward.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications are valued; financial services experience and certifications such as SABSA, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent are advantageous. Candidates with potential to step up are encouraged to apply.
