Our global footprint stretches across Australia, New Zealand, North America, and the Philippines, supporting our global clients across the accounting, finance, and professional services industries.
We are seeking a technical, commercial-minded, and leadership-oriented Senior Accountant to support an Australian public practice. You will manage a complex portfolio of high-net-worth clients and business groups, oversee annual accounting and multi-entity tax compliance (including Division 7A, FBT, and CGT events), deliver periodic management reporting and tax planning, and coach junior team members under the guidance of practice leaders.
Your Impact
- Advanced Tax & Accounting Services: Prepare and review financial statements, activity statements, and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and complex partnerships, expertly navigating Division 7A loans, fringe benefits tax, capital gains events, and depreciation concessions.
- Management Reporting & Advisory: Deliver periodic management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and pre-EOFY tax planning strategies, ensuring engagements meet strict quality standards and budgetary targets (e.g., 1,400 chargeable hours).
- Workflow Oversight & Junior Mentorship: Review the work of junior staff members, identify training opportunities, provide constructive feedback, and delegate tasks effectively to maintain smooth workflow execution.
- Systems & Process Innovation: Leverage cloud accounting tools including Xero, Now Infinity, Practice Ignition, and GreatSoft, while proactively identifying opportunities to refine internal policies and operational efficiencies.
What You Bring
- The Experience: 5+ years of progressive professional experience in an Australian public practice accounting or advisory role.
- Education & Credentials: Chartered Accountants (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) qualification, or active completion status.
- Technical Mastery: Superior command of Australian tax legislation, corporate structures, and practice management software ecosystems.
- Core Competencies: Strong commercial acumen and analytical problem-solving abilities; exceptional written and verbal English communication skills; and a collaborative, empathetic leadership approach to coaching and mentoring colleagues.
