Senior Accountant
Brand Integration & Financial Cleanup
Stay'd
Full-time | Remote LATAM
Department: Finance & Accounting
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Overlap with U.S. Eastern Time working hours
Reports to: Controller, Stay'd Holdings
Compensation: USD $1,800–$2,500 / month
About the company
Stay'd is a consortium of best-in-class short-term rental management companies building one unified brand across multiple US markets. Each brand keeps its own local identity and team, and Stay'd brings them together with shared resources like technology, marketing, finance and people. A strong finance foundation is what makes that model work, and it starts with clean books.
The role
You own the cleanup of each brand's books as it joins our shared-services accounting team. You take each brand's historical financials from wherever they are today to QoE-ready: fully reconciled bank and trust accounts, a standardized chart of accounts, and monthly financials that hold up to buyer and investor diligence. In your first 30 days, you assess each assigned brand and build a cleanup plan with dates. By 90 days, the first brands are on the Stay'd standard chart of accounts with QoE-ready financials, and the shared-services team has a close checklist it can follow. This is a long-term role: once the cleanup is done, you move into integration, bringing each new brand onto the Stay'd standard as it joins.
It is a role for someone who likes bringing order to messy books, across several entities at once, each with different systems and levels of messiness. A reconciliation that almost ties is not a reconciliation. If a brand's books are yours, you own getting them clean and keeping them that way.
Where you sit
You sit in Finance & Accounting and work with the Accounting Manager and shared-services team, brand operators, our NetSuite implementation partner, and outside QoE and M&A advisors.
This role is remote and open to people outside the United States, with working-hours overlap with U.S. Eastern Time.
What you'll own
- Clean up each brand's historical books, typically the trailing 24–36 months, so they can withstand a Quality of Earnings review.
- Correct misclassifications, clear suspense and uncategorized balances, and document every material adjustment.
- Prepare clean monthly P&Ls, balance sheets and supporting schedules by brand and consolidated, along with the workpapers diligence teams request.
- Reconcile every operating, payroll and credit card account, catch up months that are behind, and keep each brand closed and reconciled monthly.
- Perform three-way reconciliations of owner trust and guest deposit accounts, resolve shortages, overages and commingling, and escalate anything with regulatory exposure.
- Make sure trust accounting meets state real estate and vacation rental rules in each market, and tie owner statements and payouts back to trust balances.
- Map each brand's chart of accounts to the Stay'd standard, align accounting policies across brands, and prepare clean data for migration into NetSuite.
- Tie PMS data (Guesty, Track, Streamline) to the general ledger, and write repeatable month-end close checklists and reconciliation procedures.
Our Core Values
These are not posters on a wall. This is how we operate every day, and how we hire:
- Best in Class: we are not building average. Everything we touch is built to be the best in the industry.
- Solution Oriented: problems are opportunities. Bring answers, not just questions.
- Move Fast: speed wins. We ship, we test, we iterate. We do not sit on decisions.
- Drop the Ego: the best idea wins. We sacrifice for the group. We respect each other.
What you bring
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 4+ years of accounting experience, including hands-on cleanup or catch-up bookkeeping.
- Strong command of bank reconciliations and month-end close.
- Experience with trust or escrow accounting, ideally in property management, real estate or vacation rentals.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel (lookups, pivot tables, reconciliation workpapers).
- Comfort working across several entities at once.
- Strong written English and availability to overlap with U.S. Eastern Time.
- A CPA or progress toward licensure is a plus.
- Experience supporting a QoE review, audit or M&A due diligence is a plus.
- NetSuite experience, especially multi-subsidiary setups or data migrations, is a plus.
- Familiarity with short-term rental PMS platforms, owner statements or consolidating acquired companies onto a standard chart of accounts is a plus.
Compensation
- $1,800–$2,500/month, depending on experience.
