Position Overview
Join a team where accounting is a strategic business partner, not just a reporting function. As a Senior Accountant at SiteOne, you'll contribute to critical accounting and finance initiatives, collaborate across the organization, and gain broad exposure to public company accounting, acquisitions, internal controls, and executive leadership. What You'll Do:
- Own key aspects of the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting support.
- Prepare and analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide insights to support business decisions.
- Manage customer rebate accounting, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported.
- Partner closely with field leadership to provide guidance on rebate activity, address questions, and support issue resolution.
- Prepare and distribute branch and regional financial statements, helping field leaders understand performance and key financial drivers.
- Research accounting issues, apply appropriate U.S. GAAP guidance, and document conclusions for complex or non-routine transactions.
- Support external audits by preparing schedules, analyses, and supporting documentation.
- Help maintain and strengthen the Company's internal control environment, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and field teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Support acquisition accounting and integration activities, including process alignment, controls implementation, and reporting requirements.
- Identify and lead opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and control effectiveness through process improvements and automation.
- Leverage technology, data analytics, and reporting tools to streamline reporting and deliver actionable business insights.
- Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives that support SiteOne's continued growth.
Location & Work Arrangement
- Candidates should be based in the Atlanta area and able to attend in-person team meetings at our Roswell office at least twice per month, with additional opportunities for face-to-face collaboration throughout the year.
Skills We Are Seeking:
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to producing high-quality work and maintaining the integrity of financial data.
- CPA, CPA candidate, or active pursuit of CPA certification strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting required.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or a combination of both.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and account reconciliation processes.
- Experience supporting monthly close, financial statement analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ability to manage customer rebate accounting and related reporting while maintaining accuracy in a high-volume environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to partner effectively with field leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Knowledge of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance concepts.
- Experience in public accounting, a publicly traded company, or a large multi-location organization preferred.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; experience with large ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred).
- Experience with Power BI, data analytics, reporting automation, or other technology-enabled accounting tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Desire to take on increasing responsibility and build a long-term career within Accounting and Finance.
