Overview

At Gallagher, we’re looking for a Senior AI Engineer to lead the technical delivery of enterprise AI solutions. You’ll design, build, and deploy AI systems like RAG pipelines, agent workflows, and Copilot integrations. Working with a talented team, you’ll turn complex challenges into production-ready AI solutions. Reporting to the Director of AI, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of AI in a regulated insurance environment.

How you'll make an impact

In this role, you’ll work closely with business leaders to understand their challenges and translate them into well-scoped AI solutions. You’ll design secure, scalable AI architectures using tools like Azure OpenAI and Copilot Studio.

You’ll also write and review production code in .NET/C# and Python, delivering AI capabilities such as RAG pipelines and agent orchestration. As a leader, you’ll set engineering standards, mentor developers, and ensure the team delivers high-quality, maintainable solutions.

Governance and reliability will be at the heart of your work. You’ll build responsible AI controls, define quality metrics, and ensure systems meet compliance standards. You’ll also communicate technical decisions clearly to stakeholders, keeping everyone aligned and informed.

About you

Here’s what you’ll bring to the role:

  • Experience: 7 or more years in software engineering, including experience in building LLM/GenAI systems in production and 2+ years leading engineers or owning technical direction.
  • Problem-solving skills: You’ll turn unstructured challenges into well-scoped AI solutions.
  • Technical expertise: You’ll have hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and building RAG pipelines.
  • Coding skills: You’ll be proficient in .NET/C# and Python, with experience in API design and event-driven integrations.
  • Leadership: You’ll mentor developers, set standards, and lead technical decisions.
  • Compliance awareness: You’ll ensure AI systems meet governance and audit requirements.

This role requires working US business hours/US shift, and candidates must be willing and able to work according to the assigned US time zone schedule.
