We are supporting the growth of a major global organisation’s AI product engineering capability and are looking for experienced Senior AI Product Engineers to help build and scale the next generation of AI-enabled digital products.

The role

As a Senior AI Product Engineer, you will sit at the point where product thinking, software engineering and applied AI meet.

You will work closely with product managers, designers, engineers and senior stakeholders to turn complex business challenges into high-quality, production-ready AI products. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who is equally comfortable building, experimenting, improving and helping shape the technical direction of a product.

You will play a key role in developing scalable AI-powered experiences, from early prototypes through to robust solutions used at enterprise scale.

What you’ll do

• Build and enhance AI-enabled digital products using modern software engineering practices.
• Work closely with product, design and engineering teams to turn user needs into practical technical solutions.
• Develop and integrate services that use generative AI, large language models, APIs and data platforms.
• Help shape technical architecture, engineering standards and ways of working across the product team.
• Build reliable, secure and maintainable software suitable for a large, regulated enterprise environment.
• Contribute to technical discovery, experimentation and rapid prototyping where needed.
• Review code, mentor other engineers and support high engineering standards across the team.
• Work with global stakeholders, including teams aligned to US working hours.

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java or another modern engineering language.
• Experience building and shipping modern web, cloud or data-driven products.
• Practical experience working with AI, machine learning, generative AI or LLM-enabled product features.
• Experience integrating APIs, backend services and data platforms.
• Strong understanding of software quality, testing, version control, CI/CD and cloud delivery.
• Ability to work closely with product managers, designers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working through ambiguity and turning early ideas into clear technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, pragmatic approach.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM applications, RAG, AI agents, prompt engineering or evaluation frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, financial services or another regulated environment.
• Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership.
• Experience working in global, enterprise-scale product teams.
