We are seeking a dynamic Senior Asset Strategist to play a key role in delivering Council’s Asset Management Strategy and Asset Improvement Plan.

This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of asset management at Lake Mac. In this pivotal role, you will lead Council’s asset improvement initiatives. will provide leadership and support to technical staff and asset practitioners while driving continuous improvement across asset management practices, systems and data.

At this exciting time in Lake Mac’s asset maturity journey, you will play a leading role in implementing a new Strategic Asset Management (SAM) system to improve asset-related workflows, data capture and reporting. You will lead the governance framework for the system, working with stakeholders across the organisation to strengthen asset data, improve business processes and help establish a consistent, organisation-wide approach to managing Council’s assets.

This exciting role will:

  • Develop a roadmap and governance structure for prioritising, developing and implementing initiatives that support the Asset Management Strategy and Policy
  • Coordinate delivering programs that improve asset management knowledge across the organisation
  • Act as the key subject matter expert for the implementation of a new SAM system and lead the development of the system’s governance framework.
  • Develop and implement the Asset Management Improvement Plan using information from asset management plans and maturity audits
  • Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks to track asset management key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Improve organisation-wide asset management literacy and capability
  • Lead and support technical staff and asset practitioners to achieve strategic outcomes

LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU

You are an experienced asset management professional who enjoys leading people, influencing stakeholders and driving organisational improvement.

You have proven experience delivering strategic asset management initiatives, managing competing priorities and leading complex projects to successful outcomes. You are proactive, solutions-focused and able to navigate challenges with confidence.

Your strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills enable you to build productive relationships, influence outcomes and work collaboratively across a diverse organisation.

You are comfortable working autonomously and can turn strategic objectives into practical, measurable outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Degree qualifications in project planning, strategic planning, asset management, engineering, project management, business management and/or Asset Management Planning
  • Demonstrated strategic asset management experience, including strategic, conceptual and analytical skills within a local government environment
  • Demonstrated project management experience, with the ability to lead multiple projects, meet competing deadlines and deliver successful outcomes
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of asset management principles and practices, including asset lifecycle costs and strategic asset planning
  • Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated experience resolving complex issues, building relationships and achieving positive outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team
  • Experience implementing organisation-wide IT systems
