Senior AVEVA System Platform / OMI Engineer

We are looking for a Senior AVEVA System Platform / OMI Solution Expert to join a development team responsible for a business-critical 24/7 SCADA environment supporting the real-time balancing of power assets and ancillary services across multiple European countries. The mission is part of a strategic transformation program aimed at implementing a new standardized SCADA platform based on AVEVA System Platform / OMI for real-time control, monitoring, and automation of industrial assets.

The consultant will play a key role in designing, developing, configuring, testing, integrating, and supporting SCADA applications used for Power Dispatch, Energy Management, Remote Dispatching Centers, renewable assets, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and interactions with Transmission System Operators. The role requires a strong hands-on engineering mindset, combining technical expertise, operational support, troubleshooting capabilities, and close collaboration with business and operational stakeholders in a critical real-time environment.

Your missions:

• Contribute to the implementation of a new generation SCADA platform based on AVEVA System Platform / OMI.
• Design and deliver solutions supporting real-time operational decision-making.
• Develop and maintain production-ready SCADA applications.
• Translate operational and business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Support the integration of renewable energy assets, flexible assets, and Battery Energy Storage Systems.
• Ensure system compliance with group-wide harmonization and standardization objectives.
• Support the automation of processes required for ancillary services delivery.
• Participate in all project phases from technical analysis to production deployment.
• Provide operational support and contribute to incident resolution in a 24/7 operational environment.
• Collaborate with dispatchers, analysts, developers, and operational teams to continuously improve the platform.

Your activities:

Development & Configuration

• Develop, test, maintain, and enhance applications based on AVEVA System Platform.
• Implement and maintain ArchestrA object templates and instances.
• Develop OMI visualization content and operator interfaces.
• Create, maintain, and optimize ASP scripts.
• Configure industrial objects and data acquisition structures.
• Participate in software design and architecture discussions.
• Contribute to workload estimations and implementation planning.

Testing & Validation

• Execute functional testing activities.
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
• Support Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Validate software modifications before deployment.
• Troubleshoot issues identified during commissioning phases.
• Contribute to defect analysis, resolution, and product quality improvements.

Integration & Operations

• Configure and maintain AVEVA System Platform environments.
• Configure and maintain Historian integrations.
• Integrate communication protocols and industrial interfaces.
• Implement and support OPC DA, OPC UA, OPC XML communication layers.
• Implement and support Modbus TCP and Modbus Serial communications.
• Implement and support IEC-104 integrations.
• Perform troubleshooting and log analysis.
• Support production operations and incident resolution.
• Maintain system reliability, availability, and operational continuity.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with dispatchers, analysts, developers, and operational teams.
• Participate in Agile and SAFe ceremonies.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Share technical expertise, best practices, and lessons learned within the team.

• Master's degree in IT, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Electromechanics, or equivalent engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with AVEVA System Platform in industrial production environments.
• Proven experience in development and maintenance of operational SCADA platforms.
• Experience working directly with operational teams.
• Experience gained with AVEVA, AVEVA-certified organizations, AVEVA ecosystem partners, or equivalent organizations is considered an asset.
