El Segundo, CA (Hybrid)
Who We Are
Aurex is a mission-focused aerospace and defense company building the next frontier of deterrence. From hypersonics and missile defense to hardened networks and orbital systems, we design, test, and deliver the platforms that turn unproven ideas into battlefield-ready capability.
Born in Huntsville and built for speed, Aurex brings together aerospace veterans, combat-tested operators, and forward-leaning technologists to solve problems that matter—fast. We move from whiteboard to warfighter with precision, clarity, and zero tolerance for fluff.
Job Overview
MAVRC is designed to provide weapons system integrators with more resilient positioning, navigation, and timing capabilities in contested environments. The system is expected to improve anti-jam and anti- spoof performance, reduce Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) demands, and include Regional Military Protection (RMP). It is also expected to offer backward compatibility with MGUE Increment 1 aviation and maritime receivers while minimizing integration cost.

- Provide independent technical assessment of contractor hardware designs across the program lifecycle.
- Develop, review, and refine government hardware requirements and verification approaches.
- Represent the government as a technical lead in vendor and integrated program team working groups, capture risks, and surface them through the program's risk management process.
- Brief findings and recommendations to senior government leadership.
- Provide direct support to the Lead Systems Engineer and manage the integration of requirements into the program baseline.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of experience with hardware engineering.
- Experience reviewing avionics hardware designs at PDR, CDR, and TRR milestones, including schematics, printed circuit board layouts, and parts selection rationale.
- Experience authoring or evaluating hardware requirements specifications, interface control documents, and verification matrices traceable to system-level requirements.
- Experience in requirements document development such as TRD.
- Experience with risk processes and risk management.
- Ability to coordinate across integrated program teams and component vendors to resolve technical issues without direct authority, interact effectively in cross-functional team meetings and professional environments, and work collaboratively and independently while demonstrating initiative to complete complex tasks.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience with avionics hardware engineering supporting Department of Defense programs.
- Experience supporting Air Force, Space Force, or other Department of Defense programs.
- Experience with VHDL/Verilog, embedded C, or board bring-up and debug.
- Experience with Aviation GPS Receiver Cards.
- Experience with ASICs and FPGAs.
- Experience working with new technology programs for embedded systems.
- Experience in obsolescence management, supply chain risk, or trusted microelectronics.
- Knowledge of DO-254 design assurance or equivalent airworthiness and safety-of-flight processes.
- Knowledge of electronics environments such as salt fog, electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility, and shock and vibration qualification.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
