Senior Azure Infrastructure Consultant – Contract

Location: Dublin – Park West and customer sites

Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week in Dublin

Contract: Initial 6 months, scope for extension.

Day Rate: €600–€650 per day, depending on experience

The Opportunity

Auxilion is looking for an experienced Senior Azure Infrastructure Consultant to join its Cloud Services team on an initial six-month contract.

This is a hands-on technical consulting role, focused on designing, building and delivering enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure solutions for customers across Ireland.

You'll work directly with customers to understand their existing infrastructure, shape cloud strategies and deliver practical Azure solutions, covering cloud migration, infrastructure modernisation, networking, governance and automation.

We're particularly interested in engineers who combine strong hands-on Azure expertise with the ability to lead technical discussions and deliver solutions in complex enterprise environments.

This is not a purely advisory or DevOps-focused position. You'll be expected to get involved in the technical design and implementation of Azure infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise Azure infrastructure solutions, including Azure Landing Zones and cloud foundations.
• Lead and contribute to Azure migration and cloud transformation projects, moving workloads from on-premises and legacy environments into Azure.
• Design and configure Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, VPNs, ExpressRoute and private connectivity.
• Establish Azure governance, security and identity controls, including management groups, subscriptions, RBAC and Azure Policy.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
• Work with customers to understand technical requirements, conduct discovery sessions and develop appropriate cloud architectures.
• Produce technical designs, implementation documentation and operational handover materials.
• Troubleshoot complex Azure infrastructure issues and provide technical guidance throughout project delivery.
• Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, security and application teams to deliver successful customer outcomes.

Essential Experience

• At least 7 years' experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering or technical consulting.
• Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience, ideally 5+ years.
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise Azure infrastructure.
• Practical experience with Azure Landing Zones, including subscriptions, management groups and governance.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking, connectivity and security.
• Experience delivering cloud migrations or large-scale infrastructure transformation projects.
• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly Terraform.
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers in a consulting or professional services environment.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and take ownership of solution design and implementation.

Desirable Experience

• Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700 or equivalent.
• Experience with Bicep, ARM templates, PowerShell or Azure CLI.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Defender for Cloud and Azure security best practices.
• Experience with hybrid cloud, on-premises infrastructure and datacentre migrations.
• Experience developing reusable Terraform modules and automation frameworks.

Additional Requirements

• Must have full, unrestricted working rights in Ireland. Sponsorship is not available.
• Must be available to work onsite in Dublin at least three days per week, including customer locations where required.
• Available to commence at short notice or within a reasonable timeframe.
