Senior Backend Engineer

We are recruiting a Senior Backend Engineer to join a long-term project in the financial sector, working in the banking and/or insurance sectors. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and evolution of robust and scalable backend solutions, based on modern technologies and microservices architectures.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related fields;
• At least 5 years of professional experience in backend development;
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages, particularly Java;
• Solid experience with Spring Boot and microservices architectures;
• Experience in large-scale data processing using Kafka;
• Familiarity with the day-to-day use of Artificial Intelligence tools in software development;
• Solid knowledge of algorithms, data structures and good programming practices;
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases;
• Experience with Git, branching workflows and code review processes;
• Experience in virtualisation and cloud computing, with practical knowledge of cloud platforms and environments;
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies;
• Experience in leading or mentoring small teams will be an advantage;
• Fluency in Portuguese and English, both spoken and written (level B2 or C1).

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and maintain backend solutions using Java and Spring Boot;
• Design and evolve microservice architectures, ensuring the scalability and performance of applications;
• Implement and optimise large-scale data processing solutions, using technologies such as Kafka;
• Work with relational and non-relational databases;
• Manage and update code repositories, ensuring the quality and organisation of development;
• Apply best practices for version control, branching and code reviews;
• Use artificial intelligence tools in the daily workflow, promoting greater efficiency and quality in development;
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams;
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members, whenever necessary.

Salary range: 40 450,00€ - 45 400,00€ annual gross
