Show job description

Company Description Pollak PLLC is a boutique immigration law firm that provides comprehensive business and family immigration solutions to corporations, small businesses, investors, and families seeking immigrant and non-immigrant visas in the United States.

The practice is led by Karen-Lee Pollak, a nationally recognized immigration attorney consistently ranked among top Texas immigration lawyers by Chambers USA, D Magazine, Texas SuperLawyers and other leading publications.

Role Description

This is a leadership role, and it is hands-on. Working behind a closed door and keeping to yourself won’t cut it here.

We need someone who is visible and engaged — who walks the floor, answers questions, catches problems early, and makes the people around them better every week.

We also expect real pride in ownership. Your work product is accurate, complete, and polished before it leaves your desk: no typos, no blank fields left on forms, no loose ends handed to someone else to catch. You hold the team to the same standard by example.

What You’ll Do

Lead the Dallas office

• Serve as the senior attorney on site and the day-to-day leader of the Dallas team.

• Own office operations: workflow, case assignments, staffing coverage, deadlines, and quality control.

• Build, document, and continually improve processes so every filing is accurate, complete, and on time.

• Track team and case performance against firm metrics and report to the Managing Attorney.

• Partner with firm leadership on hiring, onboarding, and growth.

Mentor and develop the team

• Supervise, train, and mentor paralegals and junior attorneys.

• Review drafts and give clear, constructive feedback — including the reasoning behind each change.

• Hold regular team check-ins and be present and available when the team needs you.

• Set the tone for a collaborative, accountable culture.

Practice business immigration at a high level

• Handle employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant matters, including H-1B, L-1, E-2, PERM, EB-1, EB-2 NIW, and adjustment of status.

• Develop case strategy and prepare or oversee RFE responses, PERM audit responses, and complex filings.

• Own the quality of every filing that leaves the office: complete, error-free, with every form field addressed before submission.

• Serve as a primary point of contact for corporate and individual clients, guiding them clearly through the process.

• Advise on international travel, visa stamping, status maintenance, and compliance.

• Be the firm’s go-to resource on filing procedures and compliance questions.

What You Bring

• J.D. and an active law license in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction.

• Must be located in the Dallas area.

• Minimum 5 years of business immigration experience handling nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions.

• Deep, hands-on experience with PERM, H-1B, L-1, employment-based green cards, EB-1, and EB-2 NIW; E-2 experience a plus.

• Proven practice management experience: running workflow, supervising staff, building processes, and managing to deadlines and metrics.

• A track record of mentoring and developing paralegals or junior attorneys.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication and sound judgment under deadline pressure.

• Highly organized, self-directed, and at home in a fast-paced boutique environment.

• Pride in ownership and meticulous attention to detail: clean, typo-free work and fully completed forms, every time.

• Strong professional references.

Nice to have

• Fluency in Spanish.

• Experience with Clio, Lawmatics, and INSZoom.
