Senior Clinical Scientist – Oncology / Haematology


Contract: Initial 6-month contract

Start: ASAP

Working model: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite in Copenhagen / 2 days remote

We are supporting a leading biopharmaceutical organisation with the appointment of a Senior Clinical Scientist on an initial 6-month contract.


This is an exciting opportunity to join a clinical development team supporting the advancement of innovative therapies within oncology and/or haematology. The successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of global development strategies and take a key role in the delivery and oversight of clinical trials across different stages of development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or co-lead one or more clinical trials within oncology and/or haematology.
  • Work closely with Medical Directors and cross-functional teams to support the successful delivery of clinical development programmes.
  • Contribute to clinical development strategies and clinical development plans for assigned trials and compounds.
  • Support the preparation and review of key clinical and regulatory documentation, including protocols, informed consent forms, investigator brochures, safety updates, clinical study reports and regulatory submission materials.
  • Provide scientific input into clinical trial design, implementation and execution.
  • Contribute to the development of electronic case report forms and associated data management deliverables.
  • Lead medical data review activities, including ongoing review of efficacy and safety data and preparation of data summaries to support clinical decision-making.
  • Provide medical and scientific input into country and site selection and feasibility activities.
  • Support engagement with Key Opinion Leaders and other external stakeholders.
  • Prepare materials and coordinate internal and external committee meetings, including safety, dose escalation, data monitoring and steering committees.
  • Work closely with clinical operations teams and CRO partners throughout study delivery.
  • Contribute to study plans and act as a scientific/clinical liaison across project teams.
  • Provide scientific input into publications and other scientific communications.
  • Support investigator meetings, CRO/CRA training and site initiation activities where required.
  • Contribute to the overall delivery of high-quality clinical development programmes within agreed timelines.


About You


The ideal candidate will have:

  • A PhD, PharmD, MSc/MS or equivalent qualification in a medical, biological, pharmaceutical science or related discipline.
  • At least 6 years' experience within clinical research, including a minimum of 3 years' experience in drug development.
  • Previous experience within oncology and/or haematology clinical development is highly desirable.
  • Experience working within a project-based, matrixed pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial development and execution.
  • Experience contributing to clinical and regulatory documentation and clinical development activities.
  • Strong scientific, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary and international teams.
  • Flexibility to travel when required.


This is an initial 6-month contract with an ASAP start, requiring 3 days per week onsite in Copenhagen and 2 days remote.
