About UsWe are a globally focused organization delivering complex construction, engineering, infrastructure, and development projects across diverse markets. Our multidisciplinary teams collaborate across Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Commercial, Finance, Quality, Health & Safety, Commissioning, and specialist contractors to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved objectives.
Our project delivery environment emphasizes disciplined construction planning, integrated scheduling, productivity management, proactive risk control, resource optimization, and transparent performance reporting to support predictable project execution.
The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Planner to lead construction planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, resource planning, productivity analysis, forecasting, and schedule-control activities across complex construction projects.
The ideal candidate will develop and maintain integrated construction schedules, coordinate planning inputs across disciplines and contractors, monitor field progress, identify critical activities and constraints, develop recovery strategies, and provide management with accurate forecasts and actionable schedule intelligence. The role will ensure that construction activities are properly sequenced and coordinated with engineering, procurement, logistics, commissioning, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop comprehensive construction planning strategies aligned with project execution requirements.
- Prepare detailed construction schedules covering mobilization, site preparation, civil works, structural works, architectural works, MEP installation, testing, commissioning, and handover as applicable.
- Translate project scope, drawings, specifications, work packages, and construction methodologies into detailed activities and schedules.
- Develop project baseline schedules in coordination with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, and Construction teams.
- Establish construction sequencing, activity durations, logic relationships, dependencies, milestones, constraints, and calendars.
- Develop integrated construction schedules aligned with the overall project master schedule.
- Coordinate construction schedules with engineering deliverables, procurement activities, material deliveries, logistics, inspections, approvals, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Establish work breakdown structures, activity coding structures, schedule hierarchies, and reporting standards.
- Facilitate construction-planning workshops with project teams, contractors, subcontractors, and specialist suppliers.
- Review construction methodologies and assess their impact on schedule, resources, productivity, sequencing, and project risk.
- Develop realistic work-front plans based on site conditions, access requirements, design availability, materials, labor, equipment, and construction constraints.
- Establish short-term, medium-term, and long-term construction plans.
- Prepare detailed look-ahead schedules covering upcoming construction activities, interfaces, constraints, and required actions.
- Coordinate weekly and monthly planning cycles with construction management teams.
- Collect and validate field progress information from site teams, contractors, and discipline leads.
- Measure physical progress against approved quantities, milestones, work packages, and baseline plans.
- Verify reported progress through site information, inspection records, completed quantities, and supporting documentation.
- Update construction schedules based on actual progress and approved changes.
- Monitor planned versus actual progress and identify schedule deviations.
- Analyze construction productivity and assess its impact on planned completion dates.
- Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, work-front availability, installation rates, and production outputs.
- Identify critical-path and near-critical-path construction activities.
- Monitor float, milestone movement, schedule drivers, and potential completion-date impacts.
- Identify constraints affecting construction progress, including design information, approvals, materials, labor, equipment, access, interfaces, and site conditions.
- Maintain construction constraint registers and coordinate timely resolution with responsible stakeholders.
- Develop recovery schedules and acceleration strategies for delayed or underperforming activities.
- Evaluate alternative construction sequences, additional resources, extended shifts, parallel work fronts, and other recovery options.
- Conduct what-if analysis to evaluate the schedule impact of different construction strategies.
- Develop realistic completion forecasts based on current progress, productivity, remaining work, and known constraints.
- Monitor key contractual and project milestones and provide early warning of potential delays.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to track material and equipment availability against construction requirements.
- Monitor procurement lead times, manufacturing schedules, shipping dates, delivery commitments, and site material availability.
- Coordinate with Engineering teams to monitor drawings, specifications, technical submissions, design changes, RFIs, and approvals required for construction.
- Assess the schedule impact of delayed engineering information, design changes, and technical clarifications.
- Coordinate with Quality teams to incorporate inspections, testing, approvals, and quality hold points into construction schedules.
- Coordinate with Health & Safety teams to ensure construction planning reflects required safety activities, permits, inspections, and operational controls.
- Integrate temporary works, access arrangements, enabling works, shutdowns, relocations, and site logistics into construction schedules.
- Coordinate construction interfaces between civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, instrumentation, controls, and specialist systems.
- Monitor subcontractor schedules and integrate them into the overall construction plan.
- Review subcontractor schedules for logic, sequencing, productivity assumptions, resources, and realistic completion dates.
- Identify conflicts between subcontractor work fronts and recommend practical sequencing solutions.
- Monitor subcontractor performance against approved construction schedules and contractual milestones.
- Prepare weekly and monthly construction progress reports and schedule narratives.
- Develop management dashboards covering progress, milestones, critical activities, constraints, productivity, risks, and forecast completion dates.
- Present construction performance and schedule risks to Project Management and senior leadership.
- Facilitate weekly progress meetings, planning meetings, coordination sessions, and schedule reviews.
- Track actions from planning meetings and ensure identified constraints and recovery measures are followed through to closure.
- Maintain construction risk registers and coordinate schedule-related risks with project risk-management processes.
