The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Supervisor to oversee day-to-day construction activities, coordinate contractors and site teams, monitor workmanship and progress, and ensure construction work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will provide strong field leadership, identify construction issues early, coordinate multiple trades, maintain site discipline, and work closely with project management and technical teams to support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction activities across assigned projects, work areas, or construction packages.
• Coordinate site activities with project managers, engineers, architects, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Review approved drawings, specifications, method statements, work programs, and construction requirements before execution.
• Ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with approved design documents and project requirements.
• Monitor daily site progress and compare actual performance against approved schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate sequencing of works between civil, structural, architectural, MEP, finishing, and specialist trades.
• Allocate work areas and coordinate contractor activities to minimize clashes, delays, and disruptions.
• Conduct daily site walks and verify progress, workmanship, safety, housekeeping, and site conditions.
• Identify construction constraints, access issues, material shortages, design conflicts, and other potential delays.
• Escalate critical construction issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Monitor contractor performance against agreed scope, schedule, quality, and site requirements.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure proper work interfaces between different trades.
• Verify that required manpower, equipment, materials, and tools are available before planned activities begin.
• Monitor delivery, storage, handling, and use of construction materials.
• Verify that materials installed on site comply with approved specifications, samples, and submittals.
• Review material deliveries and identify damaged, incorrect, or non-conforming materials.
• Coordinate inspections and approvals before covering, enclosing, or progressing critical construction works.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure work meets approved drawings, specifications, tolerances, and quality requirements.
• Identify defects, incomplete works, deviations, and non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions.
• Work with Quality teams to implement inspection and test plans and construction quality requirements.
• Support preparation and closure of inspection requests, punch lists, snag lists, and quality observations.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, and verification activities relevant to construction packages.
• Monitor construction methods and ensure approved method statements are followed.
• Verify that permits, approvals, inspections, and prerequisite activities are completed before work proceeds.
• Coordinate with Health & Safety teams to ensure safe work practices are implemented on site.
• Monitor compliance with site safety rules, PPE requirements, access controls, housekeeping, and high-risk work procedures.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and significant safety concerns.
• Support toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site safety awareness activities.
• Coordinate safe execution of work involving lifting, excavation, working at height, hot work, confined spaces, electrical activities, and other high-risk operations.
• Monitor site housekeeping, waste removal, material storage, temporary works, and access routes.
• Coordinate with logistics teams to manage site access, deliveries, unloading, material movement, and equipment operations.
• Review contractor manpower levels and productivity and identify resource shortages.
• Monitor equipment utilization and identify opportunities to improve site productivity.
• Maintain daily site records covering manpower, activities, progress, deliveries, inspections, issues, and weather conditions where relevant.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and periodic construction progress reports.
• Record site instructions, technical queries, design clarifications, delays, and outstanding actions.
• Support coordination of RFIs, technical queries, drawing revisions, and construction clarifications.
• Ensure current approved drawings and documents are available to site teams.
• Monitor drawing revisions and prevent construction based on superseded information.
• Participate in coordination meetings, progress meetings, technical reviews, and contractor meetings.
• Provide accurate site information to project management and engineering teams.
• Monitor construction interfaces with existing facilities, neighboring works, utilities, roads, and operational areas.
• Coordinate temporary works, access arrangements, protection measures, and site logistics as required.
• Support planning and execution of phased construction, shutdowns, relocations, and complex work sequences.
• Identify opportunities for construction-method improvements, productivity gains, and schedule recovery.
• Assist project management in evaluating delays, disruptions, productivity issues, and potential schedule impacts.
• Monitor contractor recovery plans and verify implementation of agreed corrective measures.
• Support quantity verification and progress measurement for completed works where required.
• Coordinate with commercial and project controls teams regarding work progress, variations, and potential claims.
• Verify completed works against approved quantities, drawings, and specifications.
• Support preparation of as-built information by ensuring site changes are properly documented.
• Participate in final inspections, snagging, defect rectification, handover, and closeout activities.
• Ensure outstanding construction activities are tracked through completion.
• Maintain professional relationships with contractors, consultants, suppliers, project teams, and site personnel.
• Provide field leadership and practical guidance to supervisors, foremen, engineers, and trade teams.
• Mentor junior site personnel and promote strong construction-management practices.
• Support continuous-improvement initiatives based on lessons learned, recurring site issues, and project performance.
• Ensure site activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations, permits, project requirements, and contractual obligations.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate should have strong experience in construction supervision, site management, civil construction, building construction, infrastructure, fit-out, MEP coordination, industrial construction, or multidisciplinary project delivery, preferably within large-scale commercial, residential, industrial, infrastructure, hospitality, or international construction projects.

The candidate should demonstrate:
