1. Job Overview

We are seeking 2–3 experienced Senior Data Engineers / Data Architects to support an enterprise data management and governance initiative.

The ideal candidates should have strong hands-on experience with Qlik technologies, Data Catalog, and Data Lineage, including the design, implementation, and integration of enterprise metadata management and data governance solutions.

Candidates must demonstrate practical experience in building data catalog solutions, establishing end-to-end data lineage, and working with complex enterprise data ecosystems.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Data Catalog & Metadata Management

- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Data Catalog solutions.

- Develop automated metadata discovery, extraction, ingestion, and synchronization processes.

- Manage technical metadata, business metadata, business glossaries, and data asset classification.

- Establish metadata relationships across databases, data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and BI platforms.

- Implement metadata management standards to improve data discoverability, ownership, and governance.

- Integrate Data Catalog platforms with existing enterprise data systems.

B. Data Lineage & Impact Analysis

- Design and implement end-to-end data lineage across source systems, transformation layers, data warehouses, and reporting platforms.

- Build and maintain table-level and column-level data lineage.

- Analyze SQL transformations, ETL/ELT processes, and data dependencies.

- Implement automated lineage extraction and mapping wherever possible.

- Support upstream/downstream impact analysis for data changes.

- Identify and resolve lineage gaps, incomplete metadata mappings, and data traceability issues.

- Ensure lineage information is accurate, maintainable, and accessible to data stakeholders.

C. Qlik Platform & Integration

- Work with Qlik technologies such as Qlik Sense, Qlik Talend Data Integration, Qlik Catalog, or other relevant Qlik data management solutions.

- Integrate Qlik environments with enterprise Data Catalog and Data Lineage capabilities.

- Extract and manage metadata from Qlik applications, datasets, data models, and transformation scripts.

- Understand Qlik data loading scripts, data transformations, and dependencies.

- Support lineage tracking from source systems through Qlik data pipelines to analytics and reporting.

- Collaborate with data engineering and BI teams to ensure metadata consistency and traceability.

D. Data Engineering & Architecture

- Design scalable data integration and metadata management architectures.

- Develop SQL and Python-based data processing, metadata extraction, and automation solutions.

- Work with relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud data platforms.

- Collaborate with data governance teams, solution architects, and business stakeholders.

- Produce technical architecture documents, lineage diagrams, metadata mappings, and implementation documentation.

3. Required Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

- 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Data Management.

- Hands-on experience with Qlik technologies, preferably Qlik Sense, Qlik Catalog, or Qlik Talend Data Integration.

- Proven experience implementing or integrating enterprise Data Catalog solutions.

- Strong practical knowledge of Data Lineage, including table-level and column-level lineage.

- Experience with metadata ingestion, metadata mapping, metadata repositories, and business glossaries.

- Strong SQL skills, including the ability to analyze complex SQL transformations and data dependencies.

- Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, and enterprise data integration.

- Ability to design data flow diagrams and end-to-end lineage architecture.

- Strong communication skills in English and experience working with international stakeholders.

4. Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Qlik Talend Cloud, Qlik Catalog, or Qlik data integration and governance capabilities.

- Knowledge of enterprise metadata and governance tools such as Collibra, Microsoft Purview, Alation, Apache Atlas, or OpenMetadata.

- Experience implementing automated lineage extraction from SQL, ETL tools, and BI applications.

- Experience with Python-based metadata APIs and integration frameworks.

- Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data ownership, data stewardship, and data quality.

- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, or Databricks.

- Previous experience supporting universities, research institutions, or large enterprise environments.
