Senior Data Engineer – Snowflake & Iceberg (Fully Remote)

Job Description

• Design and implementation of an end-to-end CDC architecture to synchronize data from TigerData to Snowflake.
• Analyze and evaluate TigerData’s Apache Iceberg-based CDC approach.
• Configure and optimize Snowflake and Apache Iceberg for reliable data integration.
• Ensure correct processing of inserts, updates, and deletes across different systems.
• Address data consistency, schema evolution, latency, recovery, and error handling.
• Implement monitoring, validation, and reconciliation mechanisms to ensure data quality and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and technology providers, particularly TigerData and Snowflake.
• Support technical implementation, testing, and production deployment.
• Document the solution architecture and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
  
  

About The Customer

For one of our clients in Bern, we are currently looking for an experienced Snowflake / CDC / Apache Iceberg Consultant for an exciting data integration project.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of a reliable, production-ready data synchronization solution between TigerData and Snowflake, using Apache Iceberg and Change Data Capture (CDC).

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, particularly in architecture, configuration, and data integration.
• Proven project experience with Apache Iceberg.
• Deep understanding of Change Data Capture (CDC), data replication, and synchronization technologies.
• Experience designing and implementing production-ready data integration pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of data consistency, schema evolution, latency management, recovery, and monitoring.
• Experience with complex data architectures and integrating different data platforms.
• Knowledge of Fivetran HVR, Debezium, or similar CDC and replication solutions is an advantage.
• Experience with TigerData, TimescaleDB, or time-series data platforms is a plus.
• Independent, proactive, and solution-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and external technology partners.
