Senior Data Scientis

Role Description This is a part-time Senior Data Scientist role based in Dubai with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site presence with some work-from-home flexibility. The Senior Data Scientist will design, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions to optimize logistics operations, including forecasting demand, improving route efficiency, and enhancing resource allocation. Responsibilities include cleaning and structuring large datasets, building and validating predictive and prescriptive models, and translating analytical findings into practical recommendations for business stakeholders. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, presenting insights in clear visual and written formats, and contributing to the continuous improvement of data infrastructure, tools, and best practices. The Senior Data Scientist will also mentor team members, support experimentation and A/B testing, and help define data science standards and methodologies within the organization.
Qualifications

• Strong expertise in data science and analytics, including statistical modeling, machine learning, and working with large, complex datasets.
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science (such as Python or R) and familiarity with data manipulation, visualization, and querying tools.
• Experience deploying models into production, working with cloud or on-premise data platforms, and collaborating with engineering teams on data pipelines.
• Ability to translate complex analytical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, with strong communication and presentation skills.
• Background in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or a related domain is highly beneficial, with a strong understanding of operational KPIs and optimization challenges.
• Proven track record in a senior or lead data science role, including mentoring less experienced team members and contributing to strategic data initiatives.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup in Dubai, manage time across part-time hours, and operate independently while collaborating in diverse, cross-functional teams.
