Senior Data Scientist, Segmentation and Customer Lifetime Value

Location: Remote (Chile) | Type: Contract | Experience: 5+ years | Pay: $20-$40/hr

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Data Scientist to build customer segmentation, cohorts, and lifetime value models on large transactional and basket-level datasets. The work feeds an advanced analytics initiative where the output needs to hold up with the business, not just in a notebook.

This is an 8-week, fully remote contract with potential extension to 16 weeks, with the data science and machine learning team at a crafts-based digital product studio backed by a global strategy consulting parent. Spanish is preferred.

If you've turned hundreds of millions of transactions into segments that a marketing or loyalty team actually used, we'd love to talk.

What You'll Do

  • Apply unsupervised learning to transactional and basket-level data
  • Build clustering and dimensionality reduction approaches for customer segmentation
  • Develop customer cohorts that stakeholders can act on
  • Build Customer Lifetime Value and propensity models
  • Work comfortably with datasets well over 100M rows

Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience with unsupervised learning on transactional or basket-level data
  • Hands-on clustering, dimensionality reduction, segmentation, and cohort development
  • CLV and propensity modeling experience
  • Strong Python and SQL, plus standard ML frameworks
  • Retail, CPG, or loyalty program experience is preferred
  • Spanish preferred

Why Join Us

You'll work on a senior team where rigor matters and the problems come from real enterprise data at real scale. It's a focused engagement with clear goals and room to extend, and a chance to do work you'll be proud to put your name on.
