POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Director, Operational Performance serves as the primary strategic partner between Health Center Operations, Finance, and Business Intelligence, ensuring alignment between operational performance, financial sustainability, and organizational goals. As a member of the Clinical Implementation Team, this position translates operational, workforce, clinical, and financial data into actionable insights that support decision-making across the health center division. The Senior Director helps leaders understand the operational impact of financial decisions and the financial impact of operational decisions. Working closely with Finance, Clinical Services, Revenue Cycle, Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Intelligence, Materials Management, Pharmacy, and Laboratory Services, this role drives performance improvement, resource optimization, financial stewardship, and strategic planning across the organization's health center network. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operational Resource Management: (30%) Serve as the primary liaison between Health Center Operations and Finance. Partner on annual budgets, forecasts, workforce planning, and long-range financial planning. Monitor staffing, FTE allocation, salary expenses, productivity, travel, contracted services, and other operational costs. Collaborate with Clinical Services, Pharmacy, Laboratory Services, Materials Management, Information Technology, and other departments to improve efficiency and manage costs. Develop financial models, business cases, and return-on-investment analyses for operational and strategic initiatives. Evaluate resource allocation, staffing models, operational investments, and cost allocation methodologies. Performance Management and Analytics (30%): Serve as the primary operational liaison to the Business Intelligence team. Define reporting requirements, performance metrics, and dashboard priorities to support operational and financial decision-making. Ensure the accuracy, relevance, and usability of operational and financial reporting. Monitor key performance indicators related to access, productivity, staffing, workforce utilization, patient experience, revenue, and financial performance. Analyze operational, workforce, clinical, and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Strategic Planning and Decision Support: (30%) Support strategic planning, forecasting, and organizational decision-making. Evaluate new programs, service expansions, growth opportunities, and operational investments. Develop recommendations related to staffing, resource deployment, service delivery models, and operational performance. Identify opportunities to improve access, workforce effectiveness, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability. Leadership and Collaboration (10%): Serve as a trusted advisor to operational and financial leadership. Build strong partnerships across Operations, Finance, Clinical Services, Revenue Cycle, Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Intelligence, Pharmacy, Laboratory Services, and Materials Management. Promote accountability, collaboration, and data-informed decision-making across the organization. Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical skills. Ability to translate operational priorities into financial strategies and financial results into operational action. Strong understanding of healthcare data, reporting methodologies, and business intelligence applications. Excellent communication, relationship management, and executive presentation skills. Ability to influence across functions and drive organizational performance through collaboration. Keen attention to detail Excellent organizational skills Outstanding time management skills, including the ability to work under deadline The ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment with changing and/or competing priorities Well-developed problem-solving and critical thinking skills REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS · Minimum education Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field required. · Minimum work experience Minimum of eight years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare finance, financial planning and analysis, operational finance, healthcare consulting, analytics, strategy, or healthcare operations. Experience supporting multi-site ambulatory healthcare operations strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, workforce planning, performance management, and business analytics. Experience partnering directly with operational, clinical, and financial leadership teams. Experience working with business intelligence teams to develop executive reporting and performance management tools. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS MBA, MHA, MPH, or related advanced degree preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Requires prolonged sitting and repetitive tasks including use of a computer. Frequent standing, walking, bending. Must be able to walk up and down stairs. Requires lifting or moving of patients/supplies/equipment. Visual acuity sufficient to perform frequent work on a computer screen and review printed reports and other materials. Requires the ability to hear and to communicate orally with others. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and medical equipment and will require reaching, grasping, pushing and pulling. WORKING CONDITIONS This job operates in a professional office environment. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions in a health center environment. May require travel to other health centers, at times in inclement weather. Requires flexible schedule and during peak activity periods work in excess of 7.5 hours per day and/or 37.5 hours per week.
