About the role

Chime is at an inflection point. We're the leader in consumer financial technology, trusted by more than 10 million members. Our next chapter will be built on the strength of our brand, our technology, and our products.

This role tells that story end to end. You'll lead Product & Brand Communications with a clear mandate: make Chime a household name, establish us as the innovator in consumer finance for the AI era, and show mainstream America the full breadth of what we've built for them. You'll drive a step change in our consumer and technology brand and scale the team that gets us there.

You're equally formidable dreaming up a brand campaign that gets the country talking and orchestrating an integrated product launch that makes a splash. You partner closely with Brand Marketing and Product Marketing leadership from the start, shaping campaigns and launches into one cohesive narrative and amplify it across channels. You bring sharp brand and product comms chops, bold ideas, and a bias for action.

As a member of the Communications leadership team, you'll report to the VP of External Communications and work closely with Marketing, Product, and Engineering leaders.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Set the strategy: Own an integrated product and brand communications strategy that drives the business and wins over consumers and the tech community alike.
  • Mainstream the Chime brand: In close collaboration with Brand Marketing, turn brand partnerships, consumer insights, original research, and cultural moments into campaigns that generate sustained coverage.
  • Own the product narrative: Work hand in hand with Product Marketing to drive 360-degree product launches, from messaging to media, influencer relations, and the owned and paid surround sound that turns each one into a buzzy moment.
  • Build the team: Lead and develop a high-performing team and raise the bar for the function. Product and Brand Communications is a growth driver for Chime, and there's a lot of runway.
  • Lead cross-functionally: Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Content, and others, so every launch and campaign tells a clear story.
  • Expand the spokesperson bench: Prepare Chime's product, technology, and marketing leaders for external communications opportunities, working closely with our Chief Technology Officer, Chief Product Officer, and Chief Marketing and Growth Officer and their teams.
  • Keep Chime in the conversation: Cultivate relationships across national and local consumer, lifestyle, business, technology, and trade outlets. Direct external agencies to drive consistent coverage and bring campaigns to life.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • 12+ years of experience in product, consumer, or brand communications, or related marketing roles, preferably in consumer technology.
  • A track record of leading product and brand communications functions, from large-scale consumer campaigns to major product launches.
  • Deep media and influencer relationships across consumer, business, and technology outlets, with a history of landing stories that strengthen brand positioning.
  • Experience partnering with creators, celebrities, or brands to generate earned media for consumer, corporate, or social impact campaigns.
  • Proven leadership: you've developed high-performing teams, led cross-functional initiatives, and managed agency partners in fast-paced environments.
  • Fluency in fintech and consumer technology, including how AI is changing products, consumer behavior, and communications.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. You write with personality and know how to make complex ideas clear and compelling.
  • Experience advising C-suite executives and building effective partnerships with Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams.
  • A degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or a related field.

Below is the base salary offered for this role and level of experience. Full-time employees may also be eligible for bonus(es), competitive equity, and benefits.
