Senior Director, Product Management (Ready to Review)
Job Description:
Ready to Review is transforming tax preparation through agentic AI, turning a manual, document-driven process into an intelligent, streamlined workflow. Built on our CoCounsel platform, it automates the gathering, extraction, preparation, and review of tax returns, enabling firms to dramatically expand their capacity and shift their teams toward higher-value advisory work.
As Senior Director of Product Management, you will lead one of Thomson Reuters' highest-priority AI growth bets. You will define the strategic roadmap, scale our 1040 capabilities, and lead the expansion into complex business and entity returns, fundamentally redefining how an entire industry gets work done.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scale Ready to Review for 1040s: Own the core product end-to-end, driving adoption, accuracy, and reliability season over season. You'll push our coverage into higher-complexity returns and help firms complete a larger share of their overall volume directly in the platform.
- Lead our expansion into business returns: Determine where we play first, set the quality threshold and sequencing for each phase, and build the business case behind expanding into new return types.
- Drive trust in AI-powered tax preparation: Tax pros won't adopt automation if they can't verify the work quickly. You'll partner with AI/ML researchers and tax domain experts to establish rigorous accuracy benchmarks and design an interface that makes agent-prepared returns fully traceable and fast to review.
- Partner on core architecture: Work hand-in-hand with Engineering and Architecture on how AI agents integrate with Thomson Reuters' foundational tax engines, balancing immediate user experience with long-term platform scalability.
- Unify the end-to-end workflow: Collaborate across the SafeSend, SurePrep, CoCounsel, and Ready to Advise teams to ensure firms get a seamless gather-prepare-review-deliver experience rather than fragmented point solutions.
- Drive the commercial strategy: Work with GTM, Finance, and Strategy to nail the packaging, positioning, and modern usage-based pricing models, taking full ownership of adoption and migration targets.
- Build the team and stay close to customers: Mentor and grow a high-performing product team while spending real time with leading accounting firms as active design partners and early-access users.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years in Product Management, including 5+ years leading teams and product lines in high-growth B2B SaaS, enterprise workflow, or data platforms.
- Proven record delivering AI-powered, agentic or automation products at scale, and turning new technology into products customers adopt and pay for.
- Hands-on, daily use of frontier AI tools, with intuition for what agentic systems can and can't do
- Strong stakeholder management across a matrixed organization, and a record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience in settings where accuracy and trust are critical
- Ability to engage credibly with engineering, architecture and AI/ML leaders on integration design, model performance, evaluation and trade-offs.
- Hands-on experience designing packaging, modern pricing (especially consumption/usage models), and driving customer migration from legacy workflows.
- Experience leading phased expansion into a more complex domain while keeping existing customers stable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in tax and accounting, especially business or entity-level compliance, or in audit, finance or professional services workflows
- Experience with tax preparation software, trial balance workflows or document-processing products
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or Finance; an MBA or CPA is a strong plus
