As a part of A.K.A Brands; we are a global player with offices located in Los Angeles and Australia’s Gold Coast. With big plans ahead, we're always on the hunt for new talent to join our global team.
Role Purpose
The Senior District Manager exists to drive sales performance, operational excellence, and brand consistency across a large, high-volume district of Princess Polly stores. Building on the District Manager foundation, they carry a broader scope and act as a key partner to the Regional Manager. Their mission is to lead district execution, develop high-performing Store Managers and future multi-unit leaders, and deliver world-class customer and team experiences.
Organisational Contribution & Influence
Serves as a trusted extension of the Regional Manager, representing the district in regional planning and sharing field insights with Retail Operations, Merchandising, Marketing, and People teams. - Identifies and develops high-potential Store Managers and Assistant Store Managers, builds the district succession pipeline, and addresses performance issues decisively
- Operational Excellence
- Ensures consistent execution of company standards across all stores, including visual merchandising, customer service, RFID inventory management, loss prevention, and store appearance; continuously audits and improves operational processes
- Develops and audits onboarding and ongoing training materials for retail teams, and shares best practices from top-performing stores across the region
- Regional Leadership & Special Projects
- Mentors and onboards newer District Managers, serving as a peer coach and point of escalation in the Regional Manager's absence
- Leads special projects such as system optimizations, new process rollouts, store openings, and new employee experiences in partnership with corporate teams
Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of retail management experience, including 3+ years of multi-unit or district management, with a proven track record of driving sales performance, profitability, and operational excellence
- Demonstrated success developing Store Managers into multi-unit leaders, and managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong business acumen, using sales reporting and performance analytics to identify trends and make decisions; Shopify POS and RFID inventory management experience preferred
- Deep understanding of retail operations including inventory management, loss prevention, labor law compliance, and customer service. Availability includes weekends, evenings, and holidays, with travel up to 75% (including flights within the district and region)
Qualities & Attributes
- Leads by example, not by explanation; authentic, autonomous, accountable, collaborative, creative, and a critical thinker
- A leader of leaders who inspires and develops Store Managers and peer District Managers
- Strategic thinking capability to translate regional priorities into district-level execution plans
- Takes full ownership; if something isn't working, fixes it, turning team and customer feedback into action
- Flexible, adaptable, and energizing; handles conflict effectively and creates healthy, sustainable, and transparent team environments
