About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Document Intelligence Pipeline Specialist to design, develop, and optimize automated pipelines that extract, classify, interpret, and process information from complex digital documents. The successful candidate will combine document processing, optical character recognition (OCR), natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and data engineering to transform unstructured document content into accurate, structured, and searchable information. This fully remote role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to deliver scalable document intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end document intelligence pipelines for processing large volumes of digital documents.
  • Build automated workflows for document ingestion, classification, extraction, validation, and structured data output.
  • Implement OCR and intelligent character recognition solutions for scanned documents, images, and digital files.
  • Develop document classification models to identify document types, categories, and relevant content.
  • Apply NLP and machine learning techniques to extract entities, relationships, metadata, and key information.
  • Design information extraction workflows for invoices, contracts, forms, reports, statements, and other business documents.
  • Develop preprocessing methods for document normalization, layout analysis, segmentation, and noise reduction.
  • Integrate document processing systems with databases, enterprise applications, APIs, and cloud storage platforms.
  • Implement confidence scoring, validation rules, and exception-handling mechanisms to improve extraction accuracy.
  • Evaluate document intelligence performance using precision, recall, accuracy, and processing-efficiency metrics.
  • Investigate extraction errors, inconsistent document layouts, missing information, and OCR quality issues.
  • Optimize pipeline scalability, processing speed, resource utilization, and operational reliability.
  • Apply human-in-the-loop review mechanisms for ambiguous or low-confidence extraction results.
  • Establish document versioning, metadata management, audit trails, and data lineage procedures.
  • Implement appropriate privacy, access control, and information security measures when handling sensitive documents.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, software developers, business analysts, and domain specialists.
  • Maintain technical documentation covering pipeline architecture, extraction logic, validation rules, and performance benchmarks.
  • Recommend improvements to document processing automation and intelligent information management.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Significant professional experience in document processing, intelligent automation, data engineering, or machine learning.
  • Strong understanding of OCR, document classification, information extraction, and document layout analysis.
  • Practical experience developing end-to-end document intelligence or intelligent document processing solutions.
  • Proficiency in Python and relevant machine learning and document processing libraries.
  • Experience with OCR technologies and frameworks such as Tesseract, Azure AI Document Intelligence, AWS Textract, or equivalent tools.
  • Knowledge of NLP, named entity recognition, text classification, and language model-based extraction.
  • Experience working with PDF files, scanned images, structured forms, and unstructured documents.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience integrating document pipelines with databases and enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, APIs, distributed processing, and workflow orchestration tools.
  • Understanding of data validation, quality assurance, exception handling, and pipeline monitoring.
  • Knowledge of information security, privacy controls, and responsible document data management.
  • Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex technical projects independently in a fully remote environment.
What We Offer
  • 100% remote working arrangement within the stated employment framework.
  • Competitive compensation based on qualifications and professional experience.
  • Opportunities to work on advanced document intelligence and automation technologies.
  • Professional development and continuous learning opportunities.
  • Collaborative environment with international and multidisciplinary teams.
