Senior Full Stack Developer (EU)

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to join the engineering team behind a hardware-integrated software product used for real-time monitoring and situational awareness in mission-critical environments.
You will work across the full technology stack — backend, frontend and the data flows connecting them — owning features end-to-end, from design through implementation and deployment.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable investigating and resolving problems across the stack with a high degree of independence.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain functionality across both the backend and frontend of the product, owning features end-to-end from design through deployment.
• Build backend services and APIs and design SQL data models, queries and performance-optimized database access.
• Build responsive, intuitive user interfaces for the operator-facing product.
• Develop and maintain Python components for processing and integrating data received from field hardware/sensor devices.
• Build functionality for real-time and near-real-time processing, storage and visualization of sensor data.
• Design and maintain APIs and integrations with other systems and hardware platforms.
• Troubleshoot issues across the complete stack, including problems surfacing from deployed systems.
• Write automated tests and contribute to code quality, architecture decisions and engineering standards.
• Work closely with the engineer who built the existing system, and with the wider team, to turn operational needs into working software.

Requirements

• Hands-on professional experience in both backend and frontend development (full-stack).
• Strong experience with React, TypeScript and Node.js.
• Strong experience designing and working with SQL databases.
• Practical experience with Python for backend components and integrations.
• Excellent spoken English — you will communicate daily, in English, with the engineer who owns the existing system.
• Strong ability to work independently: investigate and resolve full-stack issues without close supervision, as the team currently has limited capacity for onboarding support.
• Solid understanding of API design and modern web application architecture.
• Experience designing and building complete production systems, not only individual components.

• Geospatial data or map-based applications.
• Experience with IoT, embedded, or other hardware-connected sensor systems.
• Docker and containerized applications; CI/CD and automated deployment.
• System monitoring and observability.
• Distributed systems and edge computing.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, telecommunications or other regulated / mission-critical industries.
