We’re looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to lead design work for one of our key clients. You’ll take projects from the first conversation to launch: understanding the problem, researching with users, shaping flows and interfaces, and staying close to development through delivery. You’ll use AI tools to explore and work efficiently, while keeping your own judgement at the centre.
About the role
Significa works with complex clients, including organisations in regulated sectors such as energy supply. In this role, you’ll be the client’s day-to-day design contact, building a trusted relationship and taking ownership of the design process from discovery through implementation. You’ll work closely with project managers, developers and the wider Significa team, and organise your workload to keep priorities, timelines and expectations clear.
What you will do
- Lead the client relationship: act as the main design contact for a dedicated client account, building trust and keeping priorities, timelines and expectations clear.
- Research user needs: plan and run interviews, workshops and usability tests, choosing methods that fit the question and turning findings into practical insights.
- Shape journeys and interfaces: map user journeys, information architecture and flows, then develop them into wireframes and interactive prototypes. Use AI-assisted tools where they help you explore options faster.
- Design for quality and accessibility: create polished, responsive prototypes that meet WCAG 2.1 AA expectations, working within and contributing to the client’s design system.
- Help define scope: work with project managers and developers to capture requirements, user stories and simple process flows where needed.
- Navigate regulated environments: work with compliance reviews, legal and brand sign-off, and several layers of approval.
- Present and align: explain your design rationale to client stakeholders, gather feedback and help agree on next steps.
- Stay involved through development: hand off clear specifications, answer developer questions and review the quality of the implementation.
- Own your workload: plan and prioritise your work, raise risks early and keep the wider Significa team informed.
- Share what you learn: bring useful AI workflows, tools and practices back to the team, with care for data privacy and client confidentiality.
What we are looking for
- Relevant experience: at least 6 years of UX/UI design experience, ideally in an agency, consultancy or product team.
- End-to-end design experience: a track record of taking projects from research and discovery through UI design and delivery.
- Enterprise or regulated environments: some experience in sectors such as banking, insurance, healthcare or public services, or a strong interest in working in these settings.
- Confident Figma skills: including components, auto layout and prototyping.
- Practical use of AI: hands-on experience using AI tools in design or research, with a clear understanding of where they help and where human judgement is needed.
- A thoughtful portfolio: examples that show both your design work and how you approached the problem.
- Clear communication: strong English communication skills and confidence presenting your work to clients.
Nice to have
- Experience in client-facing design work.
- Experience writing user stories.
- Prototyping with AI or no-code tools.
- Experience contributing to design system governance.
Don’t tick every box? Apply anyway. We care about how you think and work, not a perfect match.
What we offer
Your Balance
- Competitive salary, reviewed annually.
- Hybrid working model and flexible hours.
- Private medical and life insurance.
- Personal training and development budget.
- Structured onboarding and access to AI tools.
- Meaningful work on complex client projects.
Your Development
You’ll continue to develop your end-to-end UX/UI practice, from research and interaction design through accessible UI and implementation review. You’ll also have opportunities to strengthen your client leadership, design system and responsible AI skills through project work, regular feedback and the development budget.
Your Environment
You’ll work with a collaborative team across design, technology and delivery, with direct client contact and ownership of your work. We use AI responsibly, with care for data privacy and client confidentiality, and collaborate through tools such as Figma, Notion and Slack.
How to apply
Send us your portfolio and a short note on how you take a design project from discovery through delivery. Include case studies that show your research, design decisions, prototypes and collaboration with developers.
