Location: Metamorfosi, Attica
Work Model: Hybrid. The role requires physical presence at the office two (2) days a week.
We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer with 8+ years of professional UI/UX or product design experience to lead design from discovery through delivery and evaluation, take ownership of a digital product or news and media website, and mentor other designers.
At Webroot.ai, we design enterprise web applications and tools for professional teams and create the responsive digital experiences behind some of the region’s busiest news and media websites. We translate each publisher’s brand identity, editorial voice and content priorities into a distinctive, consistent experience for readers. We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to own the design of a digital product or news and media website, from understanding the problem and shaping the experience through to evaluating the delivered result.
This is a hands-on role combining user research, interaction and visual design, working prototypes and design systems. You will collaborate with product managers, developers, editorial teams and clients, make evidence-based decisions, and help other designers develop their practice.
Success in this role means research that leads to clear priorities and improvements in the tasks users need to complete, consistent and well-documented designs reflected in the delivered experience, and work that product and engineering partners can act on. Other designers benefit from your feedback.
- Own design from discovery to delivery: Frame problems with product and engineering, then develop information architecture, user flows, wireframes, prototypes and final UI.
- Conduct hands-on research: Plan and run user and stakeholder interviews, contextual inquiry and workflow mapping, including visits to client newsrooms. Publish objectives, participants, findings and recommendations to our shared research library.
- Test and evaluate: Set objectives and success criteria for usability tests, prioritise findings by severity and impact, and evaluate experiences after launch. Combine qualitative research with analytics, session replay, heatmaps, funnels and support data; use A/B tests or prototyping evaluations when appropriate.
- Design product and editorial experiences: Simplify settings, permissions, data-dense interfaces, onboarding and interaction states. Design homepages, section hubs, article and long-form templates, live blogs, galleries, search and archives, accounting for accessibility, responsive behaviour, advertising, consent, paywalls and performance.
- Evolve design systems: Own components, variants and tokens within your area across WordPress Admin, Gutenberg, product and theme systems. Apply shared naming, dependency and documentation rules, and manage components from discovery and publication through promotion and deprecation.
- Prototype and support implementation: Build working AI-assisted prototypes using tools, check them against the Figma design system, resolve inconsistencies, and work with developers through handoff and implementation review.
- Document decisions and requirements: Contribute to PRDs and product specifications with product management. Write user stories, acceptance criteria, design specifications, component documentation and editor or administrator guides in Jira and Confluence, and help keep design procedures current.
- Collaborate and mentor: Explain decisions to clients and stakeholders, participate in design critiques, and support other designers through constructive feedback, pairing and knowledge sharing.
- Experience and ownership: 8+ years of professional UI/UX or product design experience, with evidence of taking work from discovery through delivery.
- A portfolio that explains your decisions: Show complex applications or content-rich websites, your contribution, constraints, research and outcomes. Strong experience in one area and an interest in the other is welcome.
- Hands-on research skills: Experience planning and conducting field research, interviews and usability tests, synthesising findings and using them to improve a product.
- Figma and design systems: Strong skills in auto layout, components, variants, variables, modes, libraries and prototyping, with experience building and maintaining systems used by designers and developers.
- Design craft and judgement: Strong interaction and visual design, typography, responsive layouts and information architecture. An understanding of accessibility and structured discovery and evaluation methods, with the judgement to choose the right approach.
- Technical understanding: Working knowledge of HTML and CSS to discuss feasibility and behaviour with developers. Practical experience with AI-assisted prototyping and the ability to assess the quality of its output.
- Communication and documentation: Clear writing, practical Jira and Confluence experience, and fluency in Greek and English for research with Greek-speaking teams and documentation in English.
- Application: Include your CV and a portfolio link with 2 to 3 relevant projects. Explain the problem, your role, the evidence behind your decisions and what you learned from evaluation. Anonymised case studies are welcome for confidential work. You do not need every additional qualification to apply.
- WordPress, Gutenberg, block themes, theme.json, patterns, plugin settings or DataViews; publishing and CMS workflows.
- Multi-brand or white-label design, design-system versioning and contribution models, token pipelines, or design-to-code workflows with Storybook, Code Connect or similar tools.
- Research repositories, survey design or quantitative studies; accessibility testing with assistive technology users.
- Advertising, consent, subscriptions or paywalls, and SEO or Core Web Vitals as design constraints; fluid typography, motion, micro-interactions or editorial data visualisation.
- Group Insurance Plan: We offer a comprehensive corporate insurance package that includes: Life Insurance, Permanent and Total Disability coverage (due to illness), Accidental Death Insurance, Permanent (Total and Partial) Disability coverage (due to accident), Comprehensive Medical and Healthcare coverage.
- Professional Development: We encourage and fund participation in relevant training, workshops, industry events and conferences, covering participation fees and related travel expenses.
To apply, send your CV and a portfolio link to both hr@webroot.ai and ep@webroot.ai. Please include the position title in the email subject line.
