About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Genomic Variant Interpretation Specialist to evaluate genetic variation data and support genomic research, molecular diagnostics, and precision medicine initiatives. This fully remote position focuses on reviewing sequencing results, interpreting genetic variants, assessing clinical and scientific evidence, and preparing comprehensive reports to support accurate, evidence-based genomic assessments.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret genomic variants identified through next-generation sequencing and other genomic testing methods.
• Assess variant classifications using established guidelines, including relevant ACMG/AMP recommendations.
• Review population frequency databases, scientific literature, clinical databases, and functional evidence to support variant interpretation.
• Evaluate evidence related to pathogenicity, clinical significance, inheritance patterns, and genotype–phenotype correlations.
• Review genomic analysis reports for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and adherence to established quality standards.
• Collaborate remotely with geneticists, molecular biologists, bioinformaticians, and clinical laboratory professionals.
• Maintain clear documentation of interpretation decisions, supporting evidence, limitations, and classification rationale.
• Monitor updates to variant databases, interpretation guidelines, and relevant genomic research.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, standard operating procedures, and variant interpretation workflows.

Qualifications and Experience

• Master's degree or PhD in genetics, genomics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Significant experience in genomic variant interpretation, clinical genomics, molecular diagnostics, or genetic data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of variant classification frameworks, including ACMG/AMP guidelines where applicable.
• Experience using genomic databases and resources such as ClinVar, gnomAD, OMIM, and relevant population or disease-specific databases.
• Understanding of inheritance patterns, genotype–phenotype relationships, and molecular mechanisms of disease.
• Familiarity with NGS technologies, bioinformatics pipelines, and genomic data quality assessment.
• Excellent scientific writing, critical analysis, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.
