Senior Group Accountant

As a Group Accountant , you will manage the full-scope accounting for both Hungarian and US entities, alongside handling group-level financial consolidation under HU GAAP and US GAAP. Taking full ownership of the consolidation workflow, you will drive continuous improvements and serve as a strategic partner to the CFO, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, decision-ready financial intelligence. Responsibilities: Accounting (Hungarian entities) Full-cycle general ledger accounting in accordance with Hungarian accounting regulations Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings Supporting tax filings with accurate financial data Liaising with auditors and local authorities Reconciliation of general ledger and sub-ledgers Accounting (US entities) Full-cycle accounting in accordance with US GAAP Monthly closings and financial reporting Handling and reconciliation of intercompany transactions Ensuring proper US GAAP treatment of transactions Group consolidation Preparation of monthly and annual group consolidation under US GAAP and HU GAAP Managing eliminations and consolidation adjustments Coordinating intercompany reconciliations across entities Preparing consolidated reports for management Full ownership of the consolidation process end-to-end Review and challenge entity-level submissions Drive standardization of consolidation practices Act as main contact for consolidation topics towards CFO and auditors Reporting & analysis Preparation of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports Variance analysis (actual vs budget, YoY comparisons) Supporting management reporting and decision-making Providing data to controlling and other stakeholders Deliver actionable insights, not only reporting Proactively highlight risks and opportunities to CFO Support strategic decision-making with financial analysis Process improvement & compliance Improving and standardizing accounting processes Supporting internal controls and compliance Assisting with internal and external audits Ensuring adherence to accounting policies Lead automation and efficiency initiatives Define and implement best practices across entities Strengthen internal control environment What you bring: 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience in international, multi-entity organizations Strong expertise in financial consolidation within complex group structures In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and/or Hungarian Accounting Standards (IFRS knowledge is an advantage) Proven experience in financial reporting, technical accounting, and process ownership Demonstrated track record in process improvement, standardization, automation, and finance transformation initiatives Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central); exposure to multiple ERP platforms is an advantage Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical and data management capabilities Experience partnering with senior stakeholders, including C-level executives, in an international environment Professional working proficiency in English Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong ownership and problem-solving skills Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure Audit experience, preferably with a Big Four firm, is a strong advantage What we offer We believe that exceptional people deserve exceptional recognition: A company culture based on autonomy and accountability Flexible working hours, hybrid setup Cool office with great location in Budapest, nearby Deak Ferenc Square / Astoria Macbook in order to be the most efficient in your daily tasks Company-sponsored technical trainings Company-sponsored trips to relevant, professional conferences Medicover Health Insurance AYCM SportPass contribution, yoga at the office, SnapSoft football Regular cocktail parties, team buildings, an annual all staff 3-day summer retreat Book club & SnapSoft library, Board game club & regular board game evenings Apply If You Are motivated by building and improving finance processes in a dynamic, evolving environment.
