Building Commission NSW is seeking a motivated and capable
Senior Investigator to join the Certifier and Integrity Unit. This is a unique
opportunity to improve public confidence in the certification profession by
investigating allegations of misconduct and non-compliance involving registered

We welcome applications from both experienced investigators

investigation, audit, compliance or enforcement experience,
we encourage you to apply.
About the Team
The Certifier and Integrity Unit investigates allegations of
misconduct involving registered practitioners and administers legislation
through intelligence-led, risk-based investigation and enforcement activities.
Investigation outcomes may lead to disciplinary action, regulatory intervention

This is a technically challenging and rewarding role where
you will work with a highly skilled team to improve compliance and strengthen
confidence in the NSW building regulatory framework.

- Conduct
interviews, obtain statements and prepare briefs of evidence.
- Prepare
high-quality reports, recommendations and regulatory outcomes.
- Interpret
and apply legislation, policy and technical requirements.
- Provide
specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute
to strategic initiatives, continuous improvement and the capability of the
team.
We Are Looking For People That Have
- Demonstrated
experience conducting complex investigations, audits, compliance
activities or similar regulatory functions.
- Experience
conducting interviews, obtaining statements, gathering evidence and
preparing investigation reports or similar regulatory outcomes.
- The
ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and technical
requirements.
- Strong
analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A
high degree of personal and professional integrity.
- A
positive attitude towards learning, continuous improvement and
professional development.
In addition, you will have either:

legislation and the role of registered certifiers.
Building pathway
- Significant
experience as a registered certifier, building surveyor, building
professional, engineer or similar technical practitioner; and
- Experience
in investigations, audits, compliance, enforcement activities or
regulatory decision-making.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated
experience in investigations, compliance, audit, enforcement,
certification, building surveying or a closely related field.
- Certificate

- Ability
to satisfy relevant pre-employment screening and probity requirements.
Desirable
- Registration
as a certifier in a building surveying class of registration.
