Senior IT Project Manager (Aerospace & Defense)

We are looking for a Senior IT Project Manager to join a long-term transformation programme at a major aerospace and defense client near Marseille and Aix-en-Provence. You will run application or infrastructure projects from start to finish, from the first scoping to go-live. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, risks and dependencies. You will keep delivery on track in a setting where reliability and security really matter. You will bring together internal teams, business stakeholders and outside suppliers so everyone works toward the same goals. You will also report progress to programme leadership and steering committees and make sure all work meets quality, security and governance standards. This role suits an experienced IT Project Manager who has delivered projects in large organisations with many teams and is comfortable working with senior stakeholders.

- Location: Hybrid – Marseille–Aix-en-Provence, France (2 days a week at the client site, the rest at a partner office in Marseille)

About the project:
The client is a major French aerospace and defense company that works on critical systems in a highly regulated setting. It is running a long-term IT transformation programme made up of several application and infrastructure projects. The programme involves many internal teams, business units and outside suppliers, so strong coordination is essential. Programme leadership and steering committees follow delivery closely. Because this is defense work, quality, security and governance standards are strict, and you must be eligible for French defense security clearance. This is a long-term mission where you will have a real say in how the client modernises its IT.

You have:
- Proven senior experience as an IT Project Manager in large organisations
- A background in application or infrastructure projects
- Experience running IT projects from scoping to go-live
- Strong skills in planning, budgets, risks and working with stakeholders
- Experience in complex settings with many teams, including work with outside suppliers
- Experience reporting to programme leadership and steering committees
- Good English; French is a strong plus
- EU or NATO citizenship (required to be eligible for French defense clearance)
- Readiness to work on-site near Marseille and Aix (2 days a week at the client site, the rest at a partner office in Marseille)

Nice to have:
- PMP, PRINCE2 or a similar project management certification
- Experience in regulated industries such as aerospace, defense or energy
- 5+ years living in France
- A current or past security clearance
