Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Software Engineer to help design and develop a cutting-edge platform for managing Customs operations. You will contribute to architectural decisions, drive engineering best practices, and mentor team members while leveraging modern AI tools to improve development efficiency and software quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, reliable, high-performance distributed applications.

• Drive architectural decisions, code quality, and engineering best practices.

• Participate in technical planning, system design, and code reviews.

• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.

• Mentor team members, provide technical guidance, and promote knowledge sharing.

• Leverage AI coding assistants and agents for implementation, refactoring, testing, debugging, and code review.

• Validate AI-generated solutions for correctness, security, maintainability, and architectural consistency.

• Continuously evaluate new technologies and AI-powered engineering practices.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Travel to our project offices when necessary.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with strong Java expertise.

• Extensive experience with Spring/Spring Boot; Kotlin experience is an advantage.

• Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL optimization, and ORM frameworks.

• Solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, REST APIs, and event-driven architecture using Kafka or similar technologies.

• Strong understanding of JVM performance, multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization.

• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, Gradle/Maven, containers, and observability tools.

• Practical experience with AI coding assistants or agents, such as Cursor, Claude Code or equivalent tools.

• Ability to use AI effectively for complex development tasks while independently validating generated code and maintaining high engineering standards.

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum practices and experience mentoring other engineers.

• Strong communication and analytical skills.

• Fluency in English.

• Availability and willingness to travel abroad when required is mandatory.
