This is an opportunity to join a high-performing Agile engineering team responsible for developing and enhancing large-scale, transaction-heavy applications that support both internal and external users. You'll play a key role in building modern, scalable solutions while collaborating with teams across multiple locations and functions.

The Role

As a Senior Java Developer, you'll be at the heart of designing, developing and evolving enterprise-grade applications within a fast-paced environment. Working as part of a collaborative Agile team, you'll help deliver the next generation of distributed, web-based and transaction processing systems.

You'll contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from technical design through to deployment, while championing best practices in engineering, automation and continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Working With

• Java / J2EE development
• Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security)
• REST APIs and Microservices architecture
• Oracle databases, PL/SQL, complex queries and stored procedures
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Agile delivery methodologies including Scrum, TDD and XP
• Enterprise messaging technologies including Kafka and ActiveMQ
• Cloud-based environments and modern application architectures

Essential Experience

• Extensive commercial experience developing enterprise-scale Java applications
• Strong expertise with Spring Boot, Spring MVC and Spring Security
• Proven experience building modern transactional and data-processing applications
• Strong Oracle database experience, including:
• Stored Procedures
• Complex SQL Queries
• Triggers
• Performance optimisation
• Experience designing and developing RESTful services and APIs
• Solid understanding of Microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Experience working within Agile environments using Scrum, TDD and Continuous Delivery practices
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
• Experience contributing to CI/CD and DevOps-driven development models
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic delivery environment

Nice to Have

• Experience within financial services, investment management or brokerage environments
• Exposure to Azure or AWS cloud platforms
• Experience working within global onshore/offshore development teams
• Knowledge of modern messaging technologies such as Kafka or ActiveMQ
