At GBST, we are passionate about helping wealth management and advice businesses innovate, grow and deliver better outcomes for their clients. As we continue to expand across global markets, we are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Consultant to join our London-based Legal team on a 12-month contract.

Reporting to the General Counsel, based in Sydney, Australia, you will play a critical role in supporting our EMEA business. You will partner with senior executives across the business to provide commercially focused legal advice that enables growth while effectively managing risk. You will provide strategic and practical support across a broad range of legal matters, with a strong focus on technology contracting and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead the negotiation, drafting and execution of complex commercial and SaaS agreements

  • Provide pragmatic legal advice on commercial, corporate, privacy, employment and intellectual property matters

  • Support pre-sales activities, including responses to RFx opportunities

  • Advise stakeholders on legal, commercial and regulatory risks and help drive practical outcomes

  • Monitor legislative developments and ensure compliance across relevant jurisdictions

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and act as a strategic business partner

  • Develop legal templates, playbooks and processes to improve efficiency and scalability

  • Deliver legal training and guidance to strengthen contracting and risk awareness across the organisation

  • Mentor and support junior members of the legal team

What we are looking for:

We are seeking an experienced legal professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen and a collaborative approach. You'll be comfortable with both strategy and delivery work. Additional attributes include:

  • At least 8 years of post-admission experience, relevant legal qualifications and a current, unrestricted practising certificate

  • Significant experience negotiating and managing complex technology and SaaS agreements

  • Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and privacy legislation

  • Excellent commercial judgement, with the ability to balance risk against business objectives, and exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills

  • Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills

  • Experience working in a technology, financial services or software environment, either in-house or at a leading law firm

  • A proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work across timezones

Why join GBST?

At GBST, our people are at the centre of everything we do. We foster a collaborative and supportive culture where individuals are empowered to contribute, challenge ideas and continuously improve.

You will have the opportunity to work with talented colleagues across multiple regions, influence key commercial outcomes and make a meaningful impact in a global technology business.

If you are a commercially minded legal professional who enjoys partnering closely with the business and helping organisations navigate complex legal challenges, we would love to hear from you.

Our UK benefits include:

  • Two days of flexible or hybrid working

  • Instant savings and discounts at major retailers across the country

  • Private health insurance, including dental and optical cover

  • Non-contributory pension scheme

  • Salary sacrifice schemes for cars, cycle-to-work and additional pension contributions

  • An additional GBST & U day off each year

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

  • LinkedIn Learning
