Show job description

As SQUIRE’s Senior Customer Lifecycle Marketing Manager, you are a hybrid strategic operator who drives customer lifetime value and product adoption by pairing technical lifecycle orchestration with high-touch advocacy and loyalty programs. Think of this as a "strategist and operator in one seat" role. In addition to running lifecycle automation in Customer.io, you’ll own the strategy and execution of programs designed to foster long-term customer love—spanning programmatic Referral and Creator initiatives in Ambassador.

This isn't a standard SaaS marketing role; you will be championing the livelihoods, artistry, and culture of barbers who serve as the cornerstones of their communities. It is a rare opportunity to build high-touch programs that directly celebrate these entrepreneurs, turning their passion for their craft into a lifelong partnership with SQUIRE.

Sitting at the intersection of Lifecycle, Community, and Product Marketing, you will have a seat at the table to shape the overarching strategic vision—and then roll up your sleeves to execute it. You will play a critical role in deepening brand affinity, increasing feature adoption, and driving retention across our growing customer base, working closely with Product, CX, and Data to turn our power users into active champions—ensuring our customers always feel like insiders.

Reports To: Senior Director, Customer Growth & Engagement
Location: US - Remote
Type: Full-Time
Compensation Range: $145,000 - $165,000

🧰 YOUR CRAFT (Job Duties & Responsibilities)

  • Lifecycle Execution (Customer.io): Translate overarching strategy into technical reality. You will directly build, deploy, test, and optimize automated lifecycle journeys, owning the tactical execution of onboarding, cross-sell/upsell, at-risk intervention, churn reduction, and win-back programs.

  • GTM & Ad-Hoc Communications: Serve as the execution engine for product and feature releases, as well as one-off campaigns such as incident responses, operational updates, and event communications.

  • Referral & Creator Programs: Own the programmatic strategy and execution of SQUIRE's Ambassador tracks. You will drive the structure, incentives, promotion, and performance reporting of our Referral and Creator programs.

  • Milestones, Gifting & Recognition: Run programmatic customer milestone campaigns (e.g., booking volume milestones, tenure celebrations, and awards) to surprise and delight our users.

  • Reviews & Testimonials: Systematize the capture of promoters, creators, and other customer stories to generate a steady stream of customer proof points for GTM campaigns and the newsletter.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Revenue Operations, Product Design & Engineering (PDE), and Customer Success to align communications, ensure seamless data syncing for targeted segments, and drive measurable impacts on LTV.

The duties and responsibilities outlined above are not a comprehensive list, and additional tasks may be assigned from time to time based on business needs.

⚙️ YOUR FOUNDATION (Experience & Skills)

  • 5–8 years of experience in customer marketing, lifecycle marketing, or retention-focused roles, preferably in a B2B or B2B2C SaaS environment.

  • Deep, hands-on Customer.io expertise: You don't just strategize; you can build complex workflows, utilize Liquid syntax, manage event-triggered data, and run your own QA.

  • AI Fluency: Familiarity with AI tools and best practices for leveraging AI in lifecycle marketing to scale personalization, content generation, and operational efficiency.

  • Advocacy & Program Management: Proven experience developing and managing programmatic advocacy channels like referral engines, creator tracks, or ambassador networks at scale.

  • Data-Driven Mindset: Hands-on experience using CRM systems (Salesforce), analytics tools, and behavioral insights to segment audiences and personalize touchpoints.

  • Exceptional Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for translating value into customer-centric narratives.

  • Strategic Execution: The ability to balance high-level strategy with tactical execution—you can present to leadership one hour and build an email branch the next.

✂️ EXTRA CUT (Nice to Haves)

  • Ambassador software (or similar) expertise.

  • Understanding of the barbershop or service-based small business space.

  • A creative thinker who can balance structural lifecycle metrics with surprise-and-delight cultural moments.
