Senior Linux Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Engineer to oversee, support, and enhance vital enterprise systems spanning Linux and AIX platforms. This position covers advanced systems administration, intricate troubleshooting, management of storage and virtualization, migration of infrastructure, and building automation solutions, helping drive standardization and dependability across the infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, update, and patch essential Linux services and systems
• Carry out sophisticated administration tasks for Oracle Linux, RHEL, and IBM AIX platforms
• Resolve intricate issues related to Linux, Unix, storage, networking, and virtualization
• Manage IBM Power Systems and VMware vSphere platforms
• Handle storage allocation and intricate storage configuration adjustments
• Evaluate and enhance the performance of Linux, AIX, VMware, and storage systems
• Carry out migrations of servers, platforms, and storage
• Implement firmware updates and platform enhancements
• Build, sustain, and enhance automation through Ansible AWX
• Create and maintain sophisticated Bash scripts to streamline administrative tasks
• Manage and sustain tools for infrastructure monitoring, such as Zabbix, PRTG, and Foreman
• Conduct root cause investigations and apply fixes to avoid repeat issues
• Engage in initiatives focused on automating and standardizing infrastructure
• Offer technical mentorship and assistance to colleagues
• Address complicated infrastructure problems and support architectural enhancements

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of practical experience in Enterprise Linux administration
• Deep expertise in Oracle Linux, RHEL, and general Linux system administration
• Solid background in IBM AIX administration
• Hands-on experience managing IBM Power Systems
• Comprehensive understanding of networking and traditional system administration components
• Practical skills in storage management, allocation, and complex configuration changes
• Familiarity with VMware vSphere and related virtualization tools
• Understanding of performance evaluation and troubleshooting for Linux, AIX, virtualization, and storage
• Background in migrating servers, platforms, and storage, along with upgrading firmware and platforms
• Real-world experience building and maintaining automation with Ansible AWX
• Proficient Bash scripting abilities
• Familiarity with Zabbix, PRTG, and Foreman tools
• Solid problem-solving capabilities with experience in root cause investigation
• Demonstrated history of working within mid-sized to large enterprise settings
• English proficiency at B2 level
