Do work that matters

Business Banking supports small-to-medium enterprises, mid-market organisations, and regional and agribusiness customers with financial services and solutions that help them pursue their ambitions.

Within Business Lending, we are strengthening fraud prevention, improving decision-making and protecting customers through advanced analytics and data-driven insights. As fraud threats evolve, we are investing in scalable analytical solutions that enhance detection, improve operational effectiveness and support better customer outcomes.

As Senior Manager, Fraud Analytics, you will tackle complex application fraud challenges and help shape the future of fraud analytics across Business Banking.

Be part of a team that’s passionate about helping Australian businesses succeed. In CommBank’s Business Banking team, you’ll partner with others to support customers’ ambitions, backed by market-leading technology, a collaborative culture and opportunities to grow your career.

You will partner closely with stakeholders across Business Banking, Risk, Financial Crime, Operations and Data Science to identify fraud risks, develop analytical solutions and drive meaningful improvements in fraud detection capability.

Working alongside other senior specialists, you will help strengthen our fraud analytics capability by applying modern analytical techniques, data science methods and large-scale data assets to address evolving fraud challenges.

Your impact

You will:

  • Develop and enhance analytical models and strategies for detecting application fraud.
  • Analyse large-scale datasets to identify emerging fraud trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Deliver insights that support fraud prevention, detection and investigation outcomes.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, commercially grounded recommendations.
  • Partner across business, risk, technology, operations and data science teams to solve complex problems.
  • Apply feature engineering, model optimisation, experimentation and performance monitoring techniques.
  • Contribute to the continued evolution of fraud analytics and decisioning capability.
  • Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise across the fraud analytics domain.

We’re interested in hearing from people who

  • Bring substantial experience in fraud analytics, financial crime analytics, risk analytics or a closely related discipline.
  • Enjoy hands-on analysis and can take an ambiguous problem through to a well-supported recommendation.
  • Have developed analytical solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Can operate autonomously and influence stakeholders without relying on formal people leadership authority.
  • Balance analytical rigour with commercial judgement and practical delivery.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Have experience partnering with business, risk, technology and operations teams.
  • Thrive in ambiguous environments and enjoy building new analytical capabilities.

Technical skills

We work across a broad range of analytics and data science tools and technologies. Experience in several of the following will be advantageous:

  • Large-scale data analysis and analytical solution design.
  • Data visualisation and storytelling with data.
  • Feature engineering, model optimisation and performance monitoring.

  • Experience working with fraud, financial crime, credit risk or decisioning frameworks.
