The Opportunity
This is a rare Senior Manager role with a genuine pathway into ownership and partnership. You'll work directly with the Managing Partner, who is looking to scale down.
You'll be based in their Southport office, with a hybrid WFH model. Brisbane-based candidates are also welcome to apply.
About the role
We're looking for a highly experienced, motivated Tax Manager to lead a team and a portfolio of high-value clients. You'll have full back-office support, so you can focus on the client-facing work.
Responsibilities
- Manage team of 3 to 4 staff members
- Work with the team and manage a portfolio of high-value clients spanning across various industries and business structures
- Oversee and review the work of junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Professional development towards an equity position
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their primary point of contact for all accounting-related matters.
- Monitor and analyse financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in the development and implementation of internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices.
Skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- CPA or CA certification required.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting, with experience managing a team
- Xero experience is highly regarded
- Experience working with clients in a professional services environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of Australian accounting regulations and compliance requirements is essential.
