About the Role

The Senior Marketing Strategist, OMS owns the end-to-end client relationship and is accountable for driving measurable growth across a portfolio of independent optometry practices.

This role is central to OMS’s consult-first model – leading structured discovery, defining strategies tied to booking growth and revenue per appointment, and ensuring successful execution through internal coordination. The Senior Marketing Strategist serves as the primary strategic partner to each client, owning a defined book of business with accountability for managing multiple concurrent client engagements and full responsibility for retention, performance, and expansion.

This is a commercially accountable, client-facing role that blends consultative strategy, account management, and delivery oversight. The ideal candidate brings the instincts of an agency account manager: deeply client-centric, fluent in translating business goals into marketing execution, and motivated by measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

Client Acquisition & Strategic Discovery

  1. Lead consult-first discovery sessions with prospective clients to diagnose business performance, identify growth constraints, and define clear marketing objectives
  2. Translate discovery into structured, outcome-driven recommendations aligned to patient booking growth and revenue per appointment
  3. Partner with leadership to develop clear scopes of work and proposals that reflect client goals and OMS capabilities
  4. Maintain thorough documentation of all prospect interactions to support a seamless handoff from discovery to onboarding

Account Ownership & Client Success

  1. Own a portfolio of OMS clients, serving as the primary point of contact and strategic advisor throughout the engagement lifecycle
  2. Lead onboarding, kickoff, and ongoing strategy sessions with practice owners and staff, ensuring consistent alignment on goals and progress
  3. Conduct regular performance reviews grounded in data, proactively identifying opportunities to optimize results and deepen engagement
  4. Drive client retention by building trusted advisor relationships and consistently demonstrating the business value of OMS investment

Strategy-to-Execution Translation

  1. Translate client objectives into clear, actionable plans aligned to OMS’s standardized delivery models (Booking Growth and Retail Growth campaign paths)
  2. Delegate and coordinate work across internal OMS teams to ensure timely, high-quality execution of agreed deliverables. Work with leadership when needed to manage timelines in-line with team member capacity.
  3. Ensure all work is aligned with strategy, budget, and defined success metrics before delivery to the client
  4. Maintain documentation across all client interactions to support continuity, team alignment, and performance tracking

Performance Management & Optimization

  1. Leverage data from GPN The Edge, Optometry Marketing Services digital marketing reports, and client inputs to guide strategy and measure impact
  2. Set up and maintain reporting frameworks for assigned clients.
  3. Proactively identify performance trends and adjust recommendations to improve outcomes
  4. Anchor all recommendations in business impact – connecting marketing activity directly to patient bookings and revenue per appointment

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Team Contribution

  1. Serve as the liaison between client and internal OMS teams, ensuring clarity and alignment across all active engagements
  2. Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing teams to support pipeline conversion and a seamless client experience
  3. Proactively share best practices, tools, and insights to elevate team capability and consistency across OMS
  4. Utilize Asana, MS Teams, HubSpot, Zendesk, and email to coordinate client activity and communicate internally
  5. Refer clients to IDOC strategic partners where appropriate to support broader business needs
  6. Serve as an SME (internal and external) for the business. Participating in events, on social channels and other platforms to educate and engage with membership to support the business purpose.
Requirements
