Company Summary

NourishedRx is a leading digital health platform transforming healthcare through a Food-as-Medicine approach. Our mission is to improve the lives of individuals with chronic diet-related diseases by delivering clinically tailored food plans and nutrition interventions. We collaborate with health plans, employers, and healthcare providers to deliver personalized food and nutrition services to underserved communities. NourishedRx is a rapidly growing, venture-backed company committed to improving health outcomes and reducing healthcare costs through nutrition and behavioral interventions.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and help shape the strategy, growth, and external voice of NourishedRx. We are also open to part-time candidates who are interested in maintaining clinical hours. This person will guide evidence-based clinical program design, provide oversight and support to our Registered Dietitian (RD) team, contribute to research and evidence generation, and serve as a clinical expert in business development and partner relationships. The Senior Medical Director will be a strategic, engaging communicator who can speak credibly to clinical, payer, and industry audiences and represent NourishedRx at events and in customer conversations. This is a fully remote role.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Clinical Program Oversight, Compliance & Leadership

    • Lead the development, design, and refinement of clinical nutrition programs, ensuring they are evidence-based and aligned with the latest guidelines for diet-related diseases.
    • Provide clinical oversight, mentorship, and guidance to the clinical team to support the quality, consistency, and impact of nutrition interventions across programs.
    • Provide clinical leadership in developing new program offerings and enhancing existing ones, such as food-as-medicine programs for chronic conditions like diabetes, CKD, and cardiovascular diseases.

    • Oversee and contribute to clinical research efforts, ensuring that NourishedRx remains at the forefront of clinical evidence supporting the efficacy of nutrition interventions.
    • Collaborate with academic institutions, research partners, and healthcare stakeholders to generate data on the impact of NourishedRx's programs and to contribute to the broader "food as medicine" evidence base.
    • Ensure that research findings are integrated into clinical programs, product development, and business strategies.
  1. Clinical Team Management & Support

    • Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to the RD team, coordinating with operational leaders to support consistent, high-quality care and protocols.
    • Support the RD team in navigating complex cases and providing guidance on challenging situations.
    • Foster a collaborative, supportive team environment, prioritizing professional development and clinical excellence.
  1. Business Development & Customer Success Support

    • Partner with business development and sales teams on strategy, clinical positioning, proposals, and customer conversations with health plans, employers, health systems, and providers.
    • Translate clinical evidence and insights into compelling value propositions for prospective customers and partners, including payer audiences.
    • Work closely with the customer success team to address clinical concerns, offer support for ongoing programs, and ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  1. Public Speaking & Thought Leadership

    • Represent NourishedRx as a compelling speaker and thought leader in Food-as-Medicine, chronic disease management, and digital health at conferences, webinars, and industry events.
    • Write and contribute to articles, white papers, and other thought leadership content to increase visibility and credibility for NourishedRx in the medical and health-tech community.
    • Participate in public forums, panel discussions, and media appearances to advocate for the importance of nutrition in disease prevention and management.
