Reports to: General Manager

Location: Remote (US or Canada); preference for candidates near Salt Lake City, Utah; Austin, Texas; or Toronto, Ontario

About the Role

This role is the financial backbone of the merchandising organization—responsible for translating brand strategy into inventory investments, margin targets, and sales forecasts. It exists to own end-to-end planning for the brand, partnering with Product Development, Ecommerce, Customer Service, and Accounting to ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time.

As Senior Merchandise Planner & Supply Chain Manager, you will own the full inventory management process from forecasting to purchase orders to import logistics to markdown management. Within the first 60 days, you will have full management of the OTB, forecasting, and orders.

This is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end-to-end responsibility.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate Open-to-Buy monthly with the executive team; deliver timely re-projections based on current trends to manage inventory and protect margin.
  • Establish a "never-out" system for best-sellers.
  • Forecast sales, receipts, gross margin, and inventory position on a monthly and seasonal basis at the sales channel, category, and warehouse level.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build assortment recommendations—brand and key-item projections, SKU count, and depth.
  • Manage inventory health through buying budgets, seasonal sell-through targets, PO receipt flow, and pricing strategies.
  • Manage the full purchase order lifecycle with vendors, from issuance through delivery, including coordinating container bookings and import logistics.
  • Navigate tariff classifications and government trade regulations to ensure compliance and accurate COGS.
  • Prepare recommendations for key financial meetings that maximize sales, margin, and inventory productivity.
  • Recap business performance weekly, review variance to plan, assess deviations from current trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Proactively identify and manage closeout/excess inventory to minimize risk.
  • Ensure structured reporting deliverables are met, evaluating reports for accuracy, efficiency, and standardized best practices.
  • Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of owning end-to-end inventory planning, including replenishment, demand forecasting, weekly reporting, and open-to-buy management
  • Knowledge and use of an ERP for PO management
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional aptitude for retail math
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across e-commerce, customer service, product development, sourcing, and finance teams; skilled at identifying and influencing key stakeholders
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong ability to learn new technical applications quickly
  • Strong forecasting acumen and data-driven decision-making
  • Proactive and comfortable managing a high-scope role independently
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a lead or management role
  • Experience in multi-channel B2B wholesale
  • Comfortable working with AI tools (Claude or similar) and Microsoft Office/365 integrations to streamline workflows
  • Exposure to planning, finance, analytical, or data management systems beyond Excel
