About Us

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior NAV Oversight Specialist to oversee the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations across investment funds and portfolios. This role plays a critical part in fund valuation oversight, accounting control, pricing verification, reconciliation, and operational risk management.

The successful candidate will work closely with fund administrators, fund accounting teams, investment operations, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to identify valuation discrepancies, investigate NAV exceptions, strengthen oversight controls, and ensure compliance with applicable fund documentation, accounting standards, and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • NAV Calculation Oversight: Review and validate daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic NAV calculations for investment funds, ensuring accuracy and consistency with established procedures.
  • Fund Accounting Review: Examine fund assets, liabilities, income, expenses, accrued fees, cash balances, and investment positions to confirm correct NAV treatment.
  • Valuation and Pricing Controls: Verify the accuracy and completeness of security prices, market data, fair-value adjustments, foreign exchange rates, and other valuation inputs.
  • Reconciliation Management: Oversee reconciliations between fund accounting records, custodian statements, portfolio management systems, broker records, and fund administrator reports.
  • NAV Exception Investigation: Identify, investigate, and resolve NAV discrepancies, unexplained movements, pricing errors, incorrect accruals, and material valuation differences.
  • Corporate Actions and Income Validation: Review the accounting treatment of dividends, interest income, corporate actions, distributions, and other investment-related events affecting NAV.
  • Fee and Expense Verification: Validate management fees, administration fees, performance fees where applicable, operating expenses, and other fund-level charges.
  • Fund Administrator Oversight: Monitor outsourced NAV calculation services, review deliverables, challenge inconsistencies, and ensure service providers meet agreed accuracy and reporting standards.
  • NAV Error Assessment: Support the assessment, escalation, documentation, and correction of NAV errors in accordance with fund policies, contractual obligations, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Reporting Support: Ensure NAV data is consistent with fund financial statements, investor reporting, performance calculations, and other required reports.
  • Risk and Control Enhancement: Maintain effective oversight procedures, approval controls, escalation protocols, and audit trails to reduce valuation and operational risks.
  • Audit and Compliance Coordination: Prepare supporting documentation for internal audits, external audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory examinations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate reconciliations, improve exception monitoring, standardize review procedures, and enhance NAV oversight efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with fund accounting, treasury, compliance, risk management, investment teams, custodians, and external administrators to resolve complex issues.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide subject-matter expertise to junior colleagues and support consistent application of NAV oversight policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CFA, CIMA, or an equivalent credential are advantageous.
  • Substantial experience in NAV oversight, fund accounting, fund administration, investment operations, or financial control.
  • Strong understanding of NAV calculations, fund valuation, portfolio accounting, reconciliations, expense accruals, and investment income.
  • Experience overseeing third-party fund administrators, custodians, or other external service providers.
  • Familiarity with different investment products, including equities, fixed income, money market instruments, derivatives, and alternative investments.
  • Understanding of fund structures, valuation policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Experience investigating NAV errors, assessing financial impacts, documenting root causes, and coordinating corrective actions.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with fund accounting systems, portfolio management platforms, reconciliation tools, or financial reporting systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to challenge discrepancies professionally and communicate material issues clearly.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple funds, reporting deadlines, and operational exceptions in a remote working environment.
  • High standards of integrity, accountability, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
