Senior Network Architect (Travels to Valencia, Spain)

Location: Remote in UK, with planned travel to Valencia, Spain.

Employment type: Contract, 12 months

Rate: £650-£670 per day, Inside IR35

About the role

A manufacturing plant is separating its network as it moves to a joint venture structure. We need a senior Network Architect to define how the network evolves to a standalone end state, while the original entity and approved shared services keep running on the same campus.

This is an advisory and design role, not a hands-on build. You’ll own the architecture analysis, documentation and stakeholder coordination. Implementation sits with the client’s regional teams.

What you’ll do

  • Assess the current-state environment and produce a dependency map
  • Gather and validate requirements across security, network, application, manufacturing, regional operations and the JV
  • Document architecture considerations for LAN, wireless, firewall, load balancing, extranet, segmentation, and compute and storage
  • Define the JV / non-JV coexistence model, including permitted and prohibited connectivity paths
  • Maintain a living register of assumptions, risks, decisions and dependencies
  • Join architecture reviews and provide weekly status and governance updates
  • Coordinate with European implementation teams

What you’ll bring

  • Senior network architecture experience in large enterprise and manufacturing environments
  • Candidate must be based in the UK.
  • Strong Cisco switching and enterprise LAN architecture, with working knowledge of Cisco SDA
  • Strong Palo Alto firewall and F5 load balancer architecture experience
  • Hands-on experience implementing agent-based micro-segmentation
  • Ability to factor Red Hat compute and NetApp storage dependencies into your designs
  • Excellent stakeholder facilitation, documentation, diagramming and executive communication skills
  • Comfortable working remotely across time zones and travelling internationally when approved

Nice to have

  • JV separation, divestiture, extranet or complex network isolation experience
