The role

You’ll join a high-performing secure networks team, delivering project-based work for federal and enterprise clients. You’ll own solutions end to end, from HLD through LLD, implementation and handover. You’ll also be a trusted technical advisor, guiding clients through trade-offs, decisions and risk.

Location: Canberra, with flexible hybrid working.

What you’ll be doing

• Authoring high-level and detailed designs aligned to business and technical requirements
• Leading delivery of complex solution components across multiple workstreams
• Working hands-on across NGFW, LAN/WLAN, datacentre, SD-WAN/SASE/SSE, NAC and WAF/load balancing
• Advising clients on best-of-breed technology choices and what they mean for their security posture
• Mentoring junior engineers and lifting the team’s shared technical knowledge

The tech you’ll work with

• NGFW: Fortinet, Palo Alto
• LAN/WLAN: Juniper, Aruba, Cisco
• Datacentre: Juniper Apstra, EVPN fabrics
• SD-WAN / SASE / SSE: Fortinet, Zscaler, Aruba
• NAC: Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass
• WAF & load balancing: Cloudflare, F5 BIG-IP

You don’t need all of it. Deep expertise in 1-2 of these areas is what matters.

What you’ll bring

• 4+ years of hands-on, senior-level networking experience
• An integrator or consultancy background, delivering across multiple clients and environments.
• Federal market experience
• NV1 or NV2 clearance preferred (baseline considered)
• A strong grasp of routing and switching fundamentals, plus overlay/VPN tech and segmentation.
