Job Description:

• Client is seeking an experienced Senior Oracle APEX Developer to design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications that support business operations and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle Application Express (APEX), Oracle Database technologies, PL/SQL, and modern web development.
• The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and technology teams to understand business requirements, translate them into effective technical solutions, and deliver secure, scalable, and reliable applications.
• This role requires a self-motivated, customer-focused professional who can work independently with limited supervision, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the full software development lifecycle of custom Oracle applications, primarily using Oracle APEX.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade applications and workflow-driven business solutions.
• Develop interactive web interfaces, dynamic reports, and application components using Oracle APEX, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, HTML, and CSS.
• Create, maintain, and optimize Oracle database objects, including tables, indexes, sequences, triggers, packages, functions, and stored procedures.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries and PL/SQL code to support business applications and data processing.
• Utilize Oracle SQL Developer, Quest Toad, and related tools for application development, debugging, and database management.
• Develop and maintain solutions for storing, retrieving, and processing structured and unstructured data, including BLOBs, CLOBs, JSON, and XMLType.
• Integrate Oracle applications with web services, APIs, and Oracle BI Publisher templates and reporting solutions.
• Implement secure application integrations using HTTPS, security certificates, and appropriate authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Develop automation scripts and application logic using Java, Windows PowerShell, and Unix shell scripting as required.
• Design and implement logical functions and algorithms to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot application defects, resolve production issues, and implement enhancements to improve system performance and reliability.
• Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, requirements analysis, code reviews, testing, and release management.
• Collaborate with business users, project managers, and cross-functional technology teams to define requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Establish development milestones, manage assigned tasks, and ensure timely delivery of project commitments.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including application designs, database structures, workflows, and deployment procedures.
• Follow established development standards, security practices, and quality assurance processes.
• Provide ongoing application support and continuous improvement for existing Oracle-based systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience. Equivalent combinations of education, professional experience, and relevant certifications may be considered.
• Extensive hands-on experience developing custom applications using Oracle APEX 4.0 or later.
• Strong experience with Oracle Database 11g or later, SQL, PL/SQL, and database development.
• Proficiency with Oracle SQL Developer, Quest Toad, or comparable Oracle development tools.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience developing and maintaining Oracle database objects, PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Experience managing structured and unstructured data, including BLOBs, CLOBs, JSON, and XMLType.
• Experience integrating web services, APIs, and Oracle BI Publisher reporting solutions.
• Knowledge of secure application development, HTTPS integrations, and digital security certificates.
• Experience with Java, Windows PowerShell, and Unix shell scripting.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality results with limited supervision.

• Experience developing enterprise applications supporting retail, entertainment, hospitality, or other customer-facing business operations.
• Experience with Oracle APEX application modernization and legacy system enhancements.
• Knowledge of database performance tuning, application optimization, and secure coding practices.
• Experience integrating enterprise applications with third-party systems and business platforms.
• Oracle APEX or Oracle Database certifications.
• Experience implementing workflow automation and business process improvements.
