Why You’ll Be Excited About This Role

You take pride in getting every pay right. If you enjoy working through the detail, resolving discrepancies and managing payroll from start to finish, you’ll have the opportunity to put those strengths to work at Levande.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you’ll deliver accurate, timely payroll across our national retirement living business. Your work will support the people who help older Australians live well every day.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of hands-on payroll processing, with clear responsibilities and no direct reports.
  • Work closely with Payroll, People & Culture and Finance colleagues.
  • Apply your expertise to resolve issues and strengthen everyday payroll practices.

Why You’ll Like Working Here

You’ll join a supportive People & Culture team, with a permanent full-time role and a hybrid arrangement of three days in our Sydney CBD office and two days working from home.

Your benefits include:

  • 24/7 wellbeing support: Access Sonder, your Everyday Wellbeing Companion, for confidential health, safety and wellbeing support for you and your family.
  • My Day: One additional day of leave each year for something meaningful to you.
  • Ongoing learning: Access more than 100,000 on-demand learning resources.
  • We Shine Savings: Discounts on shopping, dining, movie tickets and holiday accommodation.
  • Fitness Passport: Access affordable gym and fitness memberships for you and your family at participating locations.

What You’ll Be Working On

Your focus will be day-to-day payroll delivery, bringing accuracy and care to each stage of the process. You’ll:

  • Process payroll end-to-end, validating employee data and resolving timesheet and Time & Attendance discrepancies before each pay run.
  • Manage new starters, terminations, back pays, leave reconciliations and workers compensation payments.
  • Process and reconcile superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG and other third-party payments.
  • Apply relevant legislation, awards, policies and internal controls to maintain payroll compliance.
  • Manage the shared payroll inbox, responding to queries within 24 hours and providing clear, helpful advice.
  • Complete month-end and year-end activities, prepare reports and maintain accurate records and process documentation.
  • Contribute to payroll improvements and project initiatives when required.

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

Strong attention to detail is essential. You check your work carefully, investigate discrepancies and take pride in maintaining accurate records. You’re organised, comfortable working independently and able to meet strict deadlines.

You’ll also bring:

  • Substantial hands-on experience processing payroll end-to-end, supported by a relevant business or HR qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Sound knowledge of payroll legislation and awards, with strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence using payroll and Time & Attendance systems; Dayforce and/or Kronos experience is highly regarded.
  • Clear communication, discretion with sensitive information and a responsive approach to employee queries.

Whether you’re an experienced Payroll Officer ready for your next step or a Senior Payroll Officer who enjoys hands-on processing, we welcome your application.

How To Apply

Please include a CV outlining your relevant payroll experience, the systems you’ve used and your involvement in end-to-end payroll processing.

If your application is shortlisted, you’ll be invited to complete a short online video interview, giving you the opportunity to tell us more about your experience and approach in your own words. Your video interview will be considered alongside your experience and application to help us evaluate alignment with the requirements of the role.
